hi guys im not to sure on the differences on UK to US cars but the owners network in the UK isnt very strong on these cars as they are alot rarer in the UK, so im struggling to find a solution. to my problem.
ive had the car a week and up untill three days ago all was fine, i then noticed that the car seemed very smelly of fuel from the exhaust and that the tailpipe would balcken soon after being cleaned.
later on i noticed at low revs in any gear at random the car would feel like it wasnt responding properly to the throttle it wouldnt react straight away then when it did it would jerk about undecided as to whether to speed up or not, this has even happened in first gear when setting off from a junction.
another thing ive noticed is that the average fuel consumption is around 18-19mpg which is very low as i generally drive quite calm and relaxed with just a few squirts of revs now and again.
i read up about the hesitation issues and i dont feel this is just a slight hesitation as the car just doesnt respond and i have to release and press the throttle sometimes a few times to get it to respond or even change.
i even have a friend who works for mazda who checked the car over yesterday and other than tightening the o ring on the hoes to the airbox said the car seemed fine he also added an update to the ecu which was needed according to the computer. the car seemed fine when leaving but 20 mins later the stuttering started again.
from what ive read im thinking maybe an o2 sensor but im not getting any CELs and the car only has issues at low rpm although it could be in my head but i feel less boost sometimes when it is pulling hard?
should note the car is standard, 1 previous owner full service history from mazda serviced 2000 miles ago currently 29500 miles on the clock
very annoying as ive only had the car a week and im really enjoying it other than this issue, any opinions and advice appreciated!!
