I recently bought a 2006 Speed6 and it came with only one flip-key/fob. Looking online it appears eBay has the best prices on replacements, but I have a couple questions.
1) Which fob should I have? The one with the car is the 3-button fob (lock, unlock, panic) but the ones online for the Mazda6 are all the 4-button variety (with trunk button). Since we have a trunk on the car it makes me wonder if that is the correct one or if not, if it will work. What do you have?
2) If anyone has purchased one of the eBay "uncut" replacement keys, are they original equipment or a copy of some kind? Are they of good quality?
3) Lastly, it would appear from other posts that I need 2 transponder keys to program the new key, but only one to program the fob. Is this verified? I think my dealer will program the key for free but I'd rather do it if possible.
