2006 Mazda5 Sirius Manual

I purchased a used Mazda5 for my wife 2 weeks ago and stumbled across this forum the other day quite by accident. Lots of good information!

My vehicle is equipped with the Sirius radio option but unfortunately it did not come with a user manual for the satelite radio unit.

So far my inquiries to Mazda about obtaining a manual have gone unanswered. Would anybody have an ideas on where else I might find a copy of the Sirius radio manual?

If you tried contacting Mazda and they didn't get back in touch with you, try your dealer.... or vise versa. Mazda corporate has usually been good at getting in touch with me about stuff, but it takes a few days if over email.

Also, perhaps you're aware already, and maybe your 5's VIN doesn't fall in this category, but there's a recall out for a software reflash for the SIRIUS radios. Not a big deal, but your SIRIUS might stop working after 1/1/07 if you don't receive the reflash... It started when after a channel update about a month or two ago, many Mazda SIRIUS units wouldn't work, so now they're putting down a temporary modified signal to patch up the error. 1/1/07 they're removing the patch so you'll need the reflash to get a signal to your Mazda.

as for the manual, I would call mazda and ask them for a hard copy

Oh, and be sure to check with the dealer that the radio has had the flash update - otherwise it may stop working in January!

I have my appointment scheduled for 12/28

Ive been having a problem with the Sirius display selection (Aritst, Title, Channel Name) staying locked in too sometimes it resets back to the channel number for an unknown reason. Wonder if this will fix that up, too. I activated my radio in the middle of the original outage, so Ive only ever had it since the temporary fix.
