After my Lancer was rear-ended on a major bridge (3 interstates) that crosses the Mississippi river I have been driving a mazda3 for the last 3 weeks. Here is my review (in comparison to my Lancer):
Good: Has a panic button on the keyless remote entry. I think its quicker, but it's hard to tell as my Lancer is a 5spd and the 3 is a sport stick auto. I like that the engine will rev up to 7.5krpms in first while traveling at 40mph. I love that the car has the radio controls on the left side of the steering wheel.
Bad: The keyless locking system is weird to me. It has odd quirks like it won't honk (2x lock) when the trunk is open. Speaking of the trunk, I don't like how it won't fully open because of the hydraulic system. I don't like the fact that the car doesn't have any door locks on the outside except on the driver's door.
If anyone would like to add on to the things they've noticed about the 3 go ahead.
