I have a 2005 Mazda 3 4cyl automatic. I had a brand new set of tires put on the car in June of 2009. By January, both rear tires were bald - even showing steel (the right rear went flat). I replaced with 2 used tires of the same size, and about a month later the right rear went flat, again, showing steel.
I'm trying to figure out why in the world the back end would be eating tires up so fast, and the front end is fine? The car does not pull, or act like it's out of alignment. I've done some research and found that this is common with the 3? If so, why in the world would Mazda not have made it adjustable?
By the way, this "eating of tires" has only recently begun. My wife bought the car before I met her (around the end of 05-beginning of 06). We have not had any problems with the tires wearing out until the beginning of 2009 or so. What could the problem be?
Thanks in advance,
Corey
