2004 Protege and P5?

Ok, about two weeks ago, my dealer's manager went to a Mazda meet in Halifax nova scotia. Here, they had all of the main saleman, managers, owners etc meet, so they could test drive the Mazda 6 and compare it to other cars....i.e. Honda, toyota nissan etc. Gee, guess which one they liked.

Anyhow, they also unvieled the 2003.5 Mazdaspeed. We've seen it, the gray and yellow ones. And they confirmed that they will not have fog lights as the pics we've already seen indicated.

What I didn't know until a few days ago, was that they also showed a slide show of the 2004 completely redisigned Mazda Protege's....or actually Mazda 3's and P5's

Has anyone seen any spy pics of these? I've seen that ugly silver euro p5 picture, but I don't know if that is it. I'll show it to my dealer on Monday to see if it is.

in the mazdaspeed part of the site.

there are several threads about it

its the 2003.5 msp

comes in titanium grey and yellow

I think we all know wht the 03.5 MSP will look like, but what he wants to know is what the Mazda3 and new P5's might look like.

i hope they dont change the look that much.....
i just bought a 03 p5 not long ago....

according to one of the latest mags, I think Sport compact, the Mazda3 is just gonna end up being elongated and "soccer momerized" into an actual station wagon thing.

i saw some pics somewhere on this board of the mazda 3 wagon about a week or so ago

looked like a miniature mazda 6 wagon

I don't know what to think about that one.

The front end isn't too shabby.

I think I'll stick with my '03 Pro5. The roofline/side profile reminds me too much of the Matrix.

hey guys, this is my first post here, i just found these forums tonight. A little background info i currently drive a 97 accord ex, but will be getting a new car this summer for college. Top 4 choices are a subaru wrx, acura rsx-s, mazdaspeed protege, mazda 6. These days I'm trying to find out as much info as possible on these cars so I can make a good choice that I won't regret.

Anyway, I've seen the 2004 mazda3 pics in this thread and i'm wondering if mazda is going to completely phase out the sedan version entirely, which would essentially leave a gaping whole in their lineup where a small car should go. Does anyone know any details about a sedan version 2004 protege/mazda3?

there WILL be a Mazda3 SEDAN

and it'll look something like this:

the 3 will be unveiled in March at the Geneva Auto Show, FYI...

thats pretty sweet looking. Only complaint is that the shape of the back windows resemble those on the new saturn ion, (god that thing is ugly). Any word on whether they will have a mazdaspeed version of it?

I just came from a Mazda 3 meeting. So here is what you will be getting

There will be a 4 and 5 door. The 4 door will have 2 engine options the 2.0 (148 hp) i model and the 2.3 (160hp) s model. The 5 door (wagon) will only get the 2.3. Lots of new cool options like nav system, tire-pressure moniters 17 inch wheels.

Should start seeing the car on the dlr lots around Nov/Dec.

Is it built in the U.S.? Any word on a MAZDASPEED model?

They will be built in Japan. Bot engines are Mazda built not Ford.

As far as a Mazdaspeed I have not heard anything but it would be really stupid not to offer it. But then again I work in service not marketing and sometimes I have to wonder about some of the decisions they make.
