nope, i wasn't too impressed either. maybe with a bigger set of wheels, it might look a little better. it almost looks like a honda accord.

It looks like it's trying too hard to be stylish, like the Z4. And that's so not a BMW trait. They have always been understated, well thought out, handsome. They better not ruin the 3 series. That's all I have to say.

It's just not a good design. It looks styled. Like someone just sort of plopped abstract shapes onto the exterior. The strength of BMW's previous designs is that they are very cohesive. So much so that they look like the entire car was carved out of a single block of material. Ok, now I'm done.


Oh, one more thing. You think that ass end looks familiar?

it's funny, every time i've driven by this dealership in the past 2 days (which is quite a few times), i've seen people that have pulled in to check out this car. i agree the M5 is gonna be f*cking unbelievable (what with a frickin' V10 and all!!), but i would take a 2003 530 waaaay before i'd buy this thing (it's fun to dream!). gotta get rid of them wheels.

When designers do these cars their design usually starts with a loaded model i.e. M5. Then they subtract all the goodies from it and that is why you get products like the pictures posted.
