2003 vs 2003.5 MSP exhaust tip

Here's what I understood was going to happen:
The 2003 models were going to have a round Racing Beat engraved tip, and the 2003.5's were going to have an Oval Mazdaspeed engraved tip.
Correct?
My 2003 has an Oval Mazdaspeed tip, not the round racing beat one.
Anyone else have the same??

I know what you are talking about.
My black msp has a more oval tip and says mazdaspeed on the side. It also says racing beat on the actual muffler. I wonder whats up with this?

All the Mazdaspeed Protege exhaust tips say "MAZDASPEED" on them. You're thinking of the MP3 which had "Racing Beat" engraved on the tip.

2003s have the same muffler/tip as the MP3s, but it's engraved "MAZDASPEED". 2003.5s have the same muffler but an oval tip, still engraved "MAZDASPEED".

If you order the Protege cat-back from Racing Beat right now, you'll get the 2003.5 style tip (but it will say "Racing Beat".)
