2003 protege5 HVAC question

i bought a 2003 protege5 and the heat works but it doesnt switch to the vents, defrost or floor
what could that be? any suggestions will be appreciated

this is the wrong subforum, but to answer the question your control unit for the HVAC is probably disconnected from the cables or just plain broke.
