2003 Protege5 back from the brink: budget rebirth.

I love what you have done! I think doing the headlights in either a matching color to the wheels or black would look pretty bad ass.

Very well done, love the look of the wheels. I think doing a nice retrofit to your headlights would be nice. Colormatch the housing to the car and the shroud of the retros to your wheels. In my head it sounds like it would be a good idea, either way looks great.

A few pics from a little show I attended yesterday. I tinted the tails with some "smoked purple" light tint by Rvinyl right before the show. It didn't change the red of the light too much, but the 2 clear sections do have more flow with the wheels. I think I'm happy with it because it's not really changed in a way that will get me pulled over. The tail still lights up red and the signal is basically redish-orange so I'm totally legal in that respect. I may try adding anothe layer of tint for a deeper purple.

These pics are right around sunset so the color of the wheels has that deeper darker vibe going on.

Very nice. Those tails came out great. Can't wait to see them a little darker. Wheels look good and so does your ride height. Any plans for a front lip?

plastidip. I never used them because they weren't HID and I didn't like the colors being different. I like the fully blacked look.

Agreed. How did you tape it off? Any stencil? I'm getting my bumper painted soon. I assumed I would paint the whole car blue, then plastidip the fog holes black behind the fog deletes

Just now seeing this thread.

I've got to say, this is actually pretty dope. Im impressed at how well that paint looks for rattle can. Art pieces came out really nice too.

Cool stuff for sure.

I got sealed LEDs to replace the license plate lights since they are exposed to moisture.

Hope you have a great time with those.. All my interior lighting and a friends bmw is from them.. Good prices and extremely fast shipping always.

I'm actually loving the look of this car...and I don't necessarily like the tar heel blue (UNC chapel-hill) but it looks nice! Great job...

So, I just talked mu friend into painting his FC the same AllCity color. I saw a FC with a glossy color similar to yours, but the matte is way better. I'll post pics when it's done

Just found this thread and had to comment..

Im sorry Ive not read through it , Like reading a porn mag I have just looked at the pictures ..

WOW! I love this car. Its freaking aweSUM!

BUT I would say you need to colour code your brake callipers same as the body colour .

The plastic trim clips in the key holes is a neat idea. Personally ( and I have ;) ) I would have filled the trunk key hold so the handle/ trim is flush ..

Im gonna keep upto date with this to see what else you have planned (rockon)

Thanks! I wrote a pretty detailed account of what's going on here so give it a read too!

I think if anything I woulld probably end up blacking out my calipers. Since they are stock I don't really want to draw a lot of attention to them. If I had upgraded brakes then maybe, but I'm also not sure if it's what I'd want.

A flush hatch trim would be nice, maybe I'll do that down the road. For now I like the insert. It kinda looks like a push button release when you see it in person.
