2003 mazda 6 headlight issue

my dad has an 03 mazda 6, and yesterday he thought his headlight went out so we went to get a new one, put it in, and a no go. we did the obvious, test it in the other side, check the fuses (ect..) no luck. ive tested the electrical connections, nothing. nothing at all in the right side assembly is working right now. we tried the flash to pass (read online this bypasses some module that could be bad?) nothing. any help would be greatly appreciated. also, ive used a multimeter and i get power on some of the connections on the main plug that goes into the assembly. i think the clip is broke from my brother playing with it trying to fix it. seems to fit on right just not tightly
