PRICE LOWERED: $9,600 !

2003.5 Mazdaspeed Protege, Sunlight Silver Metallic, 55,xxx miles
- Everything is in excellent condition, both interior and exterior. The outside is stock except for the front springs that lower the car ~1 inch, the aftermarket exhaust, and lightly tinted tail lights w/clear markers. The inside is as clean as it was when I drove it home new from Houston with 5 miles on the odo. I have babied this car in regards to maintenance -- oil changes with Synthetic Royal Purple every 2500-3000 miles, 30k mile tune-up done by Mazda, 93 octane every fill, i NEVER drive hard or boost without fully warming it up, and always give it time to cool down before shutting off. The car runs completely smooth and strong all day long, boost is strong and steady. I have never had a problem with this 'speed and have driven 21 hours from Texas to Virginia on multiple occasions which it has handled wonderfully.

I'll be totally honest, the hood and front grill were replaced about a year ago because i bumped into an SUV at snail's pace, and their trailer hitch put a scratch on the hood and the grill had a tiny crack. No other damage was done, i just replaced stuff with OEM pieces to make her look good.

The Unichip and EBC was put in about a year ago, and this summer it was tuned by the legendary JDM Sam for stock boost, and 9psi. It is a very conservative tune with afr's 11.3-11.4 throughout the power band; on high boost it boosts a MAX spike of 11psi where after it immediately drops to a steady 9-9.5psi. Map B on the Unichip is tuned as a safety map, and low boost is reverted back to stock (5.5 lbs). This tune was made so the car runs, in my mind, how it should have from the factory -- it's not overly-aggressive, but it gives the car very good speed, and gets rid of any hesitation. It's never seen auto-X or track time (though im sure it'd do quite well).

Mod List:
- Hiboost FMIC kit
- Injen CAI
- Unichip ECU (JDM Sam custom-tuned @ Crossover Auto)
- Apex'i R1 Catless 3" exhaust dp-back, AND Vibrant 3" dp-back
- AWR front motor mount, 70 durometer
- Kartboy short-shifter & bushings
- Corksport exhaust hangars
- Falken front springs (~1" drop, great ride and perf.)
- boost & a/f gauge on a-pillar

I am located in Austin, TX and am open to anyone who wants to come look at the car and/or test drive. PM or post with any questions or offers, i tried to include everything here. pics will follow, thanks ya'll. I am willing to drive up to 90 minutes for delivery.

smooth idle right at 750 and -21 in-Hg vacuum, both right where they should be.
Just wrapped the RH's in BFG G-forces about 500 miles ago; and these are GREAT
tires.
BUMP!

i actually bought them from a forum member. They have 2-3 coats of nite shadez on them, along with another 2-3 coats of gloss. They look very sharp and really compliment the black emblems on the silver paint. I couldn't be happier with them. And they're regular prot tails, so no pink reverse marker :) Thanks for the compliment -- have you sold your car?

why the unpainted grille cross-bar and chrome mazda emblem on the front?

Very perceptive you are sir. When i replaced the grill, the shop ordered a regular protege's grill, which came with black 'cross bar' and the chrome flyin' M. i didn't mind how it looked, im actually partial to the chrome M, and so i let it be -- it makes it unique.

i'll trade you your unichip for my unichip straight up.... heh

good luck with the sale man

thanks all.

Lunatik -- I am selling to get a bigger platform. I feel that without sacrificing reliability, the 'speed is built up about as fast as it can be without a good bit of work (read: money) -- intake/exhaust mani, meth injection, more boost, etc... there's plenty of room for improvement, but It's time to upgrade for me...to an FD.

I wouldn't be able to get myself to trade straight up (This tune was expensive as FAWK.). But i'll let you know if i end up selling it stock and we can discuss trades (pow)

haha, you don't want my unichip, really....

maybe i haven't told you that whole story.

Regardless, good luck with the sale, and i hope to see you around when you've got an FD (i'll be super jealous).

OH that's right! s*** i forgot -- you still never got that to work?? Well, for anyone interested, my unichip works perfect even with the BC and it's professionally tuned by JDM Sam ;)
