2003.5.... I'm dissapointed...

i saw it face to face... and im not too impressed... the old wing is better... and the front bumper is like a lip... u could take it off... and it doesnt have the sparco stuff anymore... the pedals say mazdaspeed on um...

Why are so people fixated on this sparco stuff? I mean, your opinion is your opinion, I'm not talking about that. But, I didn't like the Sparco stuff. The shifter was way too small/skinny, the peddles were alright ( mp3's are better), but the gas pedal was oddly shaped. The feel of them under the foot.... I still like the mp3's better. Well, that's imho

Besides, I would rather all of it say Mazdaspeed, and not sparco. I will afterall own a Mazdaspeed....not a Mazdasparco. Having the mats, the door sils, shifter, peddles etc all say Mazdaspeed just matches up right nicely.

If the Mazdaspeed shifter is a bit fatter then the sparco....perfect.

i like both cars...granted i have some dislikes with the 2003.5, it's still basically the same car...so if i couldn't have gotten my Spicy 2003 i would have had no problem getting a 2003.5...i mean, it beats getting a regular ES or something...

I agree about the Sparco stuff, never really crazy about that. I just think that the 2003.5's bumper/wing lost the edge that the earlier MSPs had.
It resembles the 6 too much. Not that the 6 is bad looking, it looks damn good, but it's a large sedan, not a sporty sedan.

Ever see the 6 and MSP or MP3 parked next to each other? I have quite a bit, even had a 6 a few times now.. Their surprisingly not that much difference in size side by side. Of course the 6 is bigger, it's just that it appears that their isn't much difference....hard to explain.

I agree with spicyray, they are all nice cars. The differences are small (besides colors) so it shouldn't really matter.

Who's got the better car, who's got nicer ones = bigger dick contest. It's pointless, they are the same car.

Ok, so they are about the same size, but I'm just saying that the new look of the MSP is more tame, ala 6, compared to the earlier MSP. That's just my opinion.

MP3/2003 MSP = more flash, more hyperactive, more attitude
2003.5 MSP = more class, more subdued, has a look more similar to the new 6

I think the mp3/03msp look more agressive. But i love that titainium paint. I would love to see a mp3 in that color. Either way they are both awesome cars. I dont like that sparco knob one bit. Its mad skimp.

im sorry, but the look of the new mazdaspeed stuff look cheap to me. i seen it in pictures and I just really dont like it, looks cheaply made to me. but thats my opinion its still a msp. I love the titanium color. wing is okay, new lip, i didn't like at first but now its growing on me. but i dunno.

Listen, I got a titanium ordered, and I gotta tell ya, that spoiler, it took me a long time to like it. Now, at least in pics, I love it. Seeing in person will be the deciding factor of course. I think because it's such a different style, everyone's 1st reaction is

i would like the 03.5 shifter knob it i did not have yellow stiching/writting on it. its perfect in thickness. does MAZDASPEED make a steering wheel? not the MSP one.

See this is the logic that I just don't get. So what...one has Sparco on it, and the other has Mazdaspeed. Whoppie do. The average joe that gets in your car is not going to know wtf sparco is anyways. They will however notice that everything matches in the 2003.5's.

I know you don't like the front lip/spoiler on the 2003.5's AGR, that's fine, to each his own. Personally, after owning the mp3 near two years now, the spoiler on it is boring me. I don't like how it sticks so far back on the top and hangs over the back of the trunk so much. I do like how strong it is though, but I wonder how heavey it is. To be technical, not that this means anything, but mazda has stated that the new one is lighter. Whoopie do. It means nothing, just a useless fact I thought I'd point out on this boring night.

Personally I think the 2003 and 2003.5's are the best looking sedans on the market in their price range right now. I don't think anyone of us should complain.

I keep pushing people to post pics of the 2003.5, mainly for personal reasons but, I think as more people see more pics of the 2003.5's, they'll get used to it. Believe it or not, when I seen a pic of the MP3 back in early 2001, I laughed at it....riced out protege I thought, now I own one. Sometimes, things that are different just take time to get used to.


I think all these little differences we are being nit picky about are just anal.

But, i son't think the MSP, either one, looks like a Mazda 6. Sure, they both have ground effects, and spoilers, but come on....entirely different cars. No fogs makes it look like a Mazda 6??? don't make sense to me.

Like i said, when you guys see these cars with fogs, I think some of the agressiveness that you claim is missing will return. Because other then the fogs, their near identical.

And, as a final note, I'll be glad to gid rid of that POS windsplitter on the front of the MP3, it's a big f'n pos that does nothing but spot up. . . Sorry, touchy subject..long story
