2002 Tribute A/T Tranny Problem - Please Help.

Yesterday as I pulled into the garage I accidentally turned off the car while in reverse. Now I can't turn the car on and I can't get out of reverse. I read about and tried the Shift Lock release on top of the steering column but that didn't work.

Any ideas?

you took the key out from the barrel?you shouldnt be able to remove the key,if you did,try to push it back in,or try pressing the brake pedal at the same time you put the tranny into park,if it doesnt work,well,i dont know...

move it to neutral and it should start
