2002 Mazda Protege5 for Sale. 125,314 miles. 5-speed manual transmission. A/C and CD Player. The car is in good condition with a new timing belt and thermostat installed in the past 2 years. The paint is starting to look a little faded, but I put a coat of wax on it and it made a huge improvement, so a little work might bring it almost to new condition.
Everything is stock in this car. Only performance upgrade I made was a drop-in K&N Filter. Oil has been changed reliably every 3,000 to 5,000 miles. No leaks or mechanical problems. The one sucky thing is that I backed into an SUV in a parking lot at very low speed and dented the rear hatch. The dent doesn't look bad, but it is right at the spot where the locking mechanism is and it crunched it, so now the hatch handle doesn't work and it is locked shut. Someone with some mechanical skills could probably fix this pretty easily.
I'll leave the bike rack installed if anyone wants that. Or I can remove it - either way. I bought the cross-bars from a guy on this site and have lurked around getting info on little repairs I've done on the car. I'd be thrilled if this car went to a good home with someone on Mazdas247!
I've included some pictures and can add more if anyone is interested. I live in Portland, OR.
Asking $5,499 for it, but happy to listen to any offers.
