Hey all! Newbie here.
Been on and off the forum for a long while. My MP3 has been dead since August 2010. Its been sitting in my garage and as spring is slowly slowly coming, I'd like to get it running again. I am tired to driving my wifes honda CRV.
Somethings that happened to my car before it died:
1. idles. I would start the car, it would shake and feel as if its about to die, but it wont. Happened 3 times then when I got it home, it died in my driveway.
2. The CHECK ENGINE light came on. I took it to autozone to have them check it. They said it was a Random Cylinder Misfire in my Mazda. Probable causes are as follows: lean air/fuel ratio, weak ignition system, engine mechanical condition, vacuum leak affecting one cylinder---Autozone.
3. I got new spark plugs, the idling went away for a week. The check engine light went away for a week......but then it all came back.
4. Somehow through this all, it ate all of my battery, hence I just picked up a new battery (state taxes yes!). Just installed it this morning...and nothing. The lights work, but nothing in my car works. Nothing lights up in then dashboard. No sound coming from my car when my door is open.
What is wrong? I am about to just call a tow truck to come and take it to the nearest mazda dealership to fix. Anyone know of any reliable, honest and affordable auto mechanic companies in MN--Twin Cities area?
Forgot to mention too, I took my car to get it fixed by a friend of my wifes friend from church before all of that above happened. Being a Christian car shop, I believed that he will take good care of my car. I spent about $800 fixing the car and the car did drive better, feel better and stronger, and it felt like the car was going to last another 5years without any problems. But then...2 months goes by and this happens. My wife just got done telling me that I made a mistake of not bringing the car to him earlier when the problems start to occur. I wish I knew more about cars. I just love bass fishing.
Any information will be helpful.
