2001 Mazda Millenia SL radio problems - flashing on/off without stopping

Hi -- has anyone experienced the radio powering on/off very quickly while driving? This is now becoming a constant issue where the radio will literally flash on/off without stopping until I turn the car off. The only other issue is that my CEL is on, but that is a known non-issue. Please advise. Again, this is a 2001 Milennia SL and the unit is the AM/FM/cassette/cd unit.
