2000 dx project

Hello my name is mike and im new to this fourm. I have a 2000 mazda protege dx with 1.6 zm de that i'm going to build here very soon. I'm posting to see what is best for my little car turbo the 1.6 or drop in a kl-ze in it? I'm trying to see what people have done to there's, and whats worked best?

kl-ze swap...unless you have money to forge and build your 1.6, then turbo....but turboing a car can be difficult and takes a lot to build it properly to handle boost...I don't know how the 1.6 holds up with boost on a stock motor....But I don't think it is good...

The 1.6 has strong internals so it can take the boost but you you won't get as much as a boosted 2.0. A KLZE is an awesome swap but you need to do plenty of research. There are several guys on the forum that have done this swap. Just do a search so you can see what they've gone through.
