Ok well I have been 2 weeks without my fog lights cause the piece is on back order....

Still no piece yet and no ETA date either... the service manager was super rude too.... I waited 20 minutes on hold for even someone in the dept... then the manager comes on asking me what I wanted... ( i knew it was the manager cause it's teh guy I deal with all the time regarding any other warranty issues) and he cut me off asking me if anyone called me to tell me the piece was in... and I said no.. and he said we will call you when it comes in and hangs up on me... not even checking the computer or nothing....

I wasn't impressed what so ever with this.... Mark my words it's the last Mazda I buy... next car is an SVT.... my friends have some and their service is unreal..... and in the states they treat you like a god from what I hear....

My Mazda service Dept. has lost my future business as well. It's a real shame that once some dealership's get your business they really couldn't care less about you. Once they get that big fat check from the bank they tend to look past you and say next sucker please.

That's over 45 min away from my place..... can't go there... as I need a ride to and back from work..... and they won't do that...

the dealership i am talking about is 2 min away.... and the place is Dufferin Mazda.... used to deal with Scarboro Mazda... nice GM but that's the only one that gives me any service but that isn't close to my work anymore... :(

Dude, SVT's are definitely not POS. My friend has a 98 Contour SVT and he gives me an ass whipping everytime. His dad has a 94 Cobra...i can't even contest to that. Both their cars are stock as is mine...getting an intake after i pay insurance though. SVT's are definitely bad ass.

Dont ruin something because one person screws it up. If you do go for the SVT, good luck. You more than likely will know every service person by name (and they will know you by name also) since it will be in the shop alot. Again... good luck...

crappy dealors

It's not Mazda, it's this entire market range of cars. Honestly, when I worked for marketing with Enterprise, I worked with every american and standard japanese auto dealor... they're all the same: Mazda, Honda, Mitsubishi, Dodge, Ford, Volkswagen, Nissan... it doesn't matter.
If you buy a circa 20K car, we're going to get shotty service. The Acura, Lexus, BMW, etc. have an obvious focus on customer service which lower priced cars can not offer. It's a different mentality of operations.
Even my mom takes her Accord (out of warranty) to the Acura dealor because she refuses to go to the Honda dealor.

Yeah, I work for a BMW dealer (service tech) and the customer DEFINATELY gets treated well. My Mazda dealer is really great though. There are just good dealerships and bad ones. It's all about customer service I guess.

Sometimes you might get lucky with certain dealers, but most of the time "its all about the benjamins".

If you think an SVT Cobra is a POS... well there isn't much hope for you....

Sorry, i thought you meant the SVT focus. You can't just say "SVT" and assume that everyone knows WTF you're talking about. My next car is going to be a Type R.

My local mazda dealer is great. They really go out of there way to help me. I wouldnt boycot mazda because of a bad dealer, just order the parts from some where else and don't go to them again.
Mustangs are no doubt fast, but they are not very high quality cars in an effort to keep costs down cheap int. plastics and poor fitment of parts results, Just be prepared, I would'nt base my vehicle purchases on the way the dealer is, you don't drive the dealer.

I had an Acura before my P5 and I don't think their service is any better. If you check consumer report all the Japanese make rank last on dealer service (except Lexus and Infiniti). Acura was at about 19 or 20 out of 40...Honda and Toyota had the last place.

Ok well I don't care if it's japanese, chinese, russian or german.... I want f'n service....

About an SVT being in the shop more... well right now I am beating him hands down as to how much down time I have had with my car.... and our mileage is the same.... I have about 4 weeks more of down time then him... all that was ever replaced on his was 2 coil packs.... me.. the entire tranny...., the rear sway bar end links, stereo face plate... next is fog lights harness, now this weekend it's the little switch to let the car know my driver door is opened.... I am afraid of what's going to happen next....

A dealership gets paid from Mazda with any warranty work they do.. why the f'n attitude... like seriously.... they all get paid... warranty work ss better really... they know they will get paid... no need to chase people around for money.....

But anyways... I am seriously turned off by Mazda... by any dealer really... besides the SVT one right now... until someone else displays amazing service before, during and after a purchase... then they might receive some of my hard earned money.... until then.. the shopping continues....

wow, im lucky that my car has been pretty service free, and its got over 20k miles on it. so far all that ive had to get done is get the rotors resurfaced (so i braked alittle hard every once in while :p ), the blown sub replaced, and alittle tranny work done. and the service at my dealership is great, and im pretty sure that NC_MP3 and PortCityMP3 would agree with me, i guess we got lucky and got a good dealer, even my parents are thinking about getting a mazda6 as the next family car since our dealer has been so nice after the sale.
