2.5in straight pipe

dont do it. its amazing. and ungodly loud. i put v8s to shame. i made a whole city come out side.
decided to see what it would sound like straight piped 2.5in. but it was so loud i have to put on 2 resonators. lost some low end power but seems like i gained hella top end when i go above 3k. before i could accelerate fast low end and got nothing top. but now its like reversed. prolly gonna either go down to a 2 in or put the stock (well what we will consider stock) exauhst back on (cat delete/res delete/4in muff)

also lopes and sexy backfires everywhere. im going to make this a rally car just so i can have a 2.5 in straight turbo

the guy at the exhaust shop works/build drag cars and he was amazed at how loud it was.

i f***** love it! its just too loud for practical use. and loosing almost all my low end power sucks. but luckily i do 90% freeway driving so its gonna be FUN =]
im so tempted to keep it like it is now which is

manifold cat/2.5instraight pipe to mini resonator/tip.

i love our cars.

yea i used to not be into the real loud foreign cars.. i used to only like rumbles from a big V8 but owning this little speed demon i cant help but wanna turn heads with a loud throaty exhaust to make it sound tough.

i only had them do it to see how it would sound but ima keep it on for about 2 weeks before i decide to keep it like this or go back.

with the fart can i had deep bass in the cabin but i always have my windows down and music blasting so got used to it. now its less bass more pops and backfires. louder too. but i can take loud over bassy. bass gives me headaches. loud i can adjust too/windows down music up.

gonna have my friend record me tomorrow WOT.

lol yeah it turns heads. only prob with 2.5 in is unless you have a turbo or more HP you loose a bit of low end. but today i can actually feel it. i think i just didnt cuz i wasnt used to the sound. but i seem to have regained a lil.

this thing is gonna sound amazing with a lil turbo lol

Dude, wanna know what's funny. I had to help a buddy of mine at the shop today, so while I was there, I cut off my rear muffler.... I know what you mean by turning heads haha!

But yeah, with that size piping, you will lose low end, especially on a stock 1.5. In my case, with stock piping, I can feel the power difference already.. I'm afraid to go WOT though cause of how loud it is.. but boy does she gurgle and bakcfire!

lost some low end but gained high end. i can rev higher much faster now which isnt good as i like to try and save gas but my foot says otherwise.

im in love with the lopes. but like i said. just take off your muffler/resonator/2nd car and you should get sound/slight power gain.

Stock is 1.75" I'm fairly certain. But that's what I did... no res, no cat, no rear muffler. It's fooking loud.. but you're right.. the lopes it gets.. put's some V8's to shame haha. i just need to hurry up and get a tubo on it. lol that solve the low end and even better high end!! plus i hope with the 2.5 in i can hear the turbo thru the exhaust i love that lol not sure if the turbo will be big enough to hear the whistle tho. video related..the turbo thru the exhaust sound.

I am curious s to how much hp you gained and how much torque you lost. 2.5 in is way overkill for this motor especially with it only revving to 6200 rpm. Have you dyno'd?

havnt dynoed yet. waiting to dyno and tune in a month or 2.

lost a bit of tork not as much as i thought tho. gain more high end power tho. can feel it over 3k and when im on the highway. =] since 90% of my commute is freeway its good.

yep. removed the stock piping and put on a 2.5 non mandrel bent. was insanely loud. so i put a weee lil truck resonator on it which really didnt do much lllolol

gonna get some fly by and WOT video later.

if u like really good loud rally sounds this is the setup for you. but id go no more than 2-2.25'' just for powers sake (though i wont speak to much until i see the dyno results later)

also if you live in an area with cops that dont like loud cars. lol be careful.
