ok, im looking to piece together my exhaust pre-turbo, im gettin headers to tide me over, but then im planning on a wagner 2.5 w/ highflow cat and then a 2.5 inch catback (all to match the spool 2.5 downpipe) so basicly, im looking for a mandrel bent and nice 2.5 inch catback... are there any on the market? i don't know of anywhere to get it custom done (norcal ppl, help me out)

so basically your getting a header and cat back now and then once you go turbo you will get the downpipe?

I dont know if any of the manufacturures make 2.5 pipes standard as I thought the RB 2.375 was the largest available right now retail.

So For that Iw ould search for a place near you to make the cat back piping, buy a muffler somewhere and bring that with you so they can weld it together.

Then when you go turbo there are alot of downpipes available, AWR, spool, Apex here in AZ makes once for the MSP, Im sure they can fab one for a turbo p5.

The Greddy cat-back is almost 2.5" I think...
The 5Zigen Fireball cat-back is 2.5"...
the Team Moon cat-back is a 2.5" system I beleive also...Not positve on all of the those numbers but I will verify them...

Anthony Woodford Racing (AWR) makes a regular header that used on the SWC TC cars...Not a downpipe for turbo.

could u get links for those?

5zigen doesn't make a catback for the protege. why not go custom? then you can use any muffler you choose.

well, i found out that the racing beat is in fact 2.375 (everyone was sayin it was 2.25 i donno where they got that from) but i think im gonna go racing beat after the midpipe

spool is the only company that i know of that has a full 2.5" catback exhaust. But it is for a sedan.

I got my 2.5" catback done custom.

;)

that will list all that they sell for P5's...It doesn't list the specs on that exhuast, and you are correct the rest are not quite 2.5" so I was wrong...But 5Zigen, JIC, Skunk2, and some others that I didn't know about until this site do make full cat-backs for P5's...not sure about sedans but check that site...If the link doesn't work go to www.planetperformance.com and use the specific vehicle option and choose which car you have...

EDIT: I just re checked that place and according to them the 5Zigen fireball cat-back is not available for the sedan...only the P5...and it is also a special handling item which will be shipped directly from Japan...The site says that the exhuast will be available from their warehouses soon, but not yet...

hmmmm...interesting. guess it wouldn't be listed on 5zigen's usa webpage. looks pretty sweet. i like that clip/band that goes around the muffler can :D i'm guessing the piping size is 2.5" too since the fireball only comes in 2.5" and 3" inlets.

My bet is that the 5zigen is in the 60 or 65mm range...Being that it is only available for a P5 in Japan so far...they most likely used one of the common NA metric diameters...60mm will be 2.375", which is just like the RB...and 65mm will be very close to 2.5", just a little bigger (2.6" about)...In Japan they rarely use standard measurements unless the system is not only japanese domestic...Since it is becoming more common for metric exhuast diameter specs even in the U.S., they will most likely just keep the metric measurements when it finally does cross the pond officially...

And sorry about those ridiculous claims on the earlier post...I was well aware that aftermarket protege cat-backs where generally smaller than 2.5"...A few too many Miller High Life's and anyone becomes ignorant...

zmepro - if you want something to tie you over till you go turbo. We have a 2.5" cat-back specifically for the P5 wagon. We also have a cat-delete piece too, which deletes the 2nd cat :)

you have a 2.5inch catback for p5? sweet deal, i don't want a 2nd cat remover because CA screws you hard if u don't have cats, i think i would get the wagner midpipe w/high flow cat, but do u have pics/links/info about ur catback?
