2.3 mazda6 motor swap

hey im tearing out the 2.0 and replacing it with the 2.3 mazda 6 or mazda 3 motor if you prefer all the same. will the tranny from 2.0 bolt up?.. if not how about getting the mazda 6 tranny will that fit?..thanks
oh one more thing if none of this is possiable what the "F" is a spool turbo, apiggy back and who makes the best header?..lol.thanks

good luck.

no you need a new tranny.

i will bet you $80 billion that you wont do the swap.

spool turbo is a turbo kit made by spool turbos: www.spool-turbo.com

piggy back takes over some of the ECU functions so you can run boost better.

use the search to see info on headers.

maybe maybe not

its all about the money i wanna hit 200hp if i can get a decent turbo setup then ill go that way it all depends im checking out the spool right now

lol...oh boy

You'll have more than enough money left if you went with a turbo rather than the 2.3l swap. You can achieve WELL over 200hp with a turbo.
With the money you spend swapping the 2.3l and tranny and STILL remain at 160hp, you could have invested in a turbo and have almost 300hp.

Now if you want to be a ginea pig for this swap and start the experiment, by all means do so. Just know that you will be spending all this money getting the swap in alone before you even start on performance.

i suppose

id like to go turbo my biggest thing is i dont know who to go with im sick of hearing about this turbo and that turbo..lol...i just want 200hp or better..also i want a turbo that can be beefed up whether it be a bigger turbo or just more boost know what i mean

You will get more than 200hp regardless of which company you choose. You can beef up a turbo on any turbo setup. You can increase the boost on any turbo setup.

Honestly, my favorite kit is HiBoost. More power for the money plus a complete computer upgrade.

With forged internals and fine tuning, you can EASILY turn up the boost, get bigger turbo, and get thrown back in the seat at 300hp+.

Keep this in mind. Its easier/cheaper/more simple to mod a turbo engine and make it quicker than a NA engine.

i stand by my bet.

if you dont care to read up on turbos then dont get one. go buy a faster car, you are better off.

the engine WON'T fit in the car... just like any NEW honda motor won't fit in any old honda... the reason is simple... the exhaust and intake manifolds are installed in reverse... not only that, a new tranny, custom mounts, and custom shifter will be needed... the new mazda engines/trannys NEED cable shifters because of the exhaust

there's an old saying.... more bucks than brains
money doesn't solve everything... "anything is possible as long as you have money" is nonsense... will you be able to fit a 454 chevy into a chevy, or any compact car? NO, the engine is bigger than the whole front end of the car!

You CAN swap that motor into the P5. If you have a cutting torch, and a welder you can do anything. You won't be driving that car as a daily driver. I can tell you that. Bottom line.......go TURBO. Most bang for the buck.

I beg to differ with that. Dr. Charles Madrid swaped a RSX Type S motor into a 98 Civic Coupe.

I would do neither sell your car and get a honda supra 300zx. No critizing intended but you dont seem to know what your talking about or care to learn. all you will probally do in the long run is blow your engine and they say how bad a Mazda is. I pertsonally would prefer neither and I am tired of hearing people complain about our car with lack of info and knowledge.

Yes but I think he was just talking about bolting in. Also hondas have conversion kits almost a week before they come out (just making a point). Which changes the situation alot. Also to change some of the engines into older hondas sometimes involves hammering certain parts of the engine bay for pulley clearences and such.

I recommend before doing any of this you get your learn on hardcore. From the questions you asked you don't sound too tuner savy.

I reccomend maximum boost as does everyone else for learning everything there is about turbocharging

(rofl) Hmmm uclap, can you actually cover this bet? If you really stand by it, and I were Silverbullett, I'd have that engine out so fast your head would spin. No matter what it cost me to do the swap I guess I'd come out about $79,999,980,000 ahead!!!! that's a pretty sweet deal.

Then I'd sell the damn Protege, buy a couple of dozen Ferrari's and a former Playmate to sit on the fender of each one. Leaving me about 60 or 65 billion for beer and pizza.

sure ill stand by it. :D

im sure if that bet were offered to most the people on this board they would take it and do the swap.

but silverbullet wont. he has no clue.

full of yourselfs

just because you sit on the cool guy mazda website all day does not make you an expert in mazda performance. i looked into a stage 2 turbo by spool im probably going to go that way any how my question was more of a could in it be done type of question i talked to a cert. MAZDA tech today where i work and his response the motor isnt the problem the tranny would cause the delays . anyways i will make sure NOT to ask you people a question because one you think your just so smart( but your not ) and you jump on everybodys case for a simple question that would never affect your lives what so ever. so heres to the mazda bunch for a huge ass wipe response

Chill out, man. So some guys called BS on you and they were right. No big deal.

Turbos are great. Yay for turbos.

If you want to stay N/A, there was a rally protege driver who was selling a built protege engine here a month or so ago, you can search for that.

Also, if you want people to take you more seriously, take a little more time and make your posts a little easier to read/follow.

PS-it's "full of yourelVes"
