2.0L Protege Guys...

Design i had made up had only 1 semi-radical bend in it, but was relatively straight forward otherwise. Dont think Dino wants to build my header tho :'(:'(

I can make it if...
1-it performs
2-there are enough people willing to buy it
3-I can price it right

I bought the steel i needed full retail, bent and cut ready to go for about $300 aud.... then let it rust in my shed as i never got around to building it.

If you had your own bender, or some kind of supplier who gives you good deals, that wouldn't be nearly that much.

as for performs - it should (in theory...subject to a few dyno tests) be pretty killer. I've used some fairly industry standard formulas/calculators to work it all out.

I think to get people to buy it you'd have to do the whole price/performance thing. Sure it'll cost more than an OBX, but if it performs twice as well, a justification of twice the price is fairly straight forward....

I'll dig up the drawings and get them to you so you can take a look.

It'd be nice if you could get your hands on this software and update it. That's if it even exists anymore, which probably isn't the case.

On a side note, I've been digging through the "archives" (pre 04')so to speak and I'm just noticing how much aftermarket support there actually was for the platform. Its really sad knowing all the potential parts that just disappeared because of lack of interest.

That software is from Perfect Power.

Yeah. It's just hard when companies come out with a great product that no one wants to pay for and people end up going with a cheap part. The companies end up losing money, and never bother developing for the platform again.

Moral of the story - Support the companies that support your car, or you will lose all of your options.

* Long rod and high comp piston kit - 3SGTE rods modded to suit would require some crank machining to work. SR20 rods are not as long but would only require big-end machining on the rod. Insane option would be a de-stroker kit (FPDE crank) with long rods to suit (pushes close to 1.75:1 rod ratio)

This is about the only thing I want. Sign me up for it now and I'll go outside and pour sand into my motor to ensure the need for a rebuild. (drive2)
