2.0 conversion to 1.8 Coil Packs

I dont plan on doing this conversion. I was just curious about the plug wires cuz the orientation looks similiar to the nology wire setup. I have nology wires (45k mi.) and want to change them out. I'm getting a P0300. I've changed the egr, plugs, cpk, and coil packs and I still misfire. Just wanted to change plug wires to see if I solves my problems cuz there's no way in hell I'm going to spend another $200 on nologys again.

Ya, I took my Nology's off after about 2 weeks. MAD misfires, everything. Pure s*** worst mod I've ever bought. I run Magnecor wires, SO smooth.

what spark plug wires is everyone using who did this conversion
Good ole NGK wires, ZFR5 plugs, & whatever brand 1.8 coils from NAPA, weren't any choices in brand. Have them sittin right over an OBX hdr rt up front for coupla years now issue free smoothness. My only issue with it is...do I stay with the MSP vc with cover or go polished 626 vc with sensor without any engine cover but with the wires routed all nice with oem clips on vc & uncut sparkplug boots?

yes i wanna pick up some plug wires but what's the part number since i can't tell them its for a protege5 cuz i need some kind of after market wires. Most inportantly i need to know the lengths of the wires. Sorry i appear to be so ignorant on this matter. I never used any other wires except nology and i didn't even install them myself.

The plug wires for the 1.8 coils is NGK part number ZX52 for 2000 protege with 1.8 which is 4 wires. The plug wires for the 2.0 coils is NGK part number ZE76 for 2003 protege5 which is 2 wires. Just go to ngk.com. Good prices, fast shipping, get your plugs there too. Just search by vehicle above depending on which way you're going. The wires for the 1.8 coils are generous in length. I have an extra set & can measure them if you need. My coils are up front on driver's side of the head. I'm guessing that's where yours are?

i just did the mod a few days ago.. alot smoother, little to no extra power.. but id do it again, it really smoothed everything out.. i got the coilpacks from rock auto.. the ACdelco, they have stocked them in some time, but they where $54 and every thing else is double that now.. i think napa is up to $185.. anyway, i call them and they put the order through ADdelco and got them for me in a weeks time.. they said they had a few more left at ACdelco...

That's just wild, I paid 43 from napa for coils & 36 for wires from ngk. Guess they had the coils wfmm (way f'in mismarked).

this might seem like a noob question, but i noticed the connectors on the harness for the coils are the same on the 2.0l and the 1.8l. Would this be a doable modification for the 1.6l? I'm not sure if it would be too powerful or the order in which they fire would be wrong. I have the opportunity to get a used set of 1.8l coils and wires if anyone has info on doing this to a 1.6l.

Thanks...
