anybody have any experience using one?

tried to search but 1g dsm bov is not enough for the search parameters lol.

know a guy selling one, uncrushed, that was good for 20ish psi.. are they an upgrade from the factory bpv or would i be better waiting and saving money for the cobb?

Not familiar with it, but stock BPV will hold higher boost than our K04 can safely produce, which is about 18-19 psi for any sustained period. If you exceed 17.5 psi on stock tune you are probably going to hit load cut anyway.

Unless you have a boost gauge or Dash Hawk or other monitoring device that proves that the stock BPV is actually leaking, (very few do and mine has not at over 43.000 miles) it works extremely well, even with my mods, which include a full catless downpipe and race pipe, CAI, colder plugs and a Hypertech tune that is now set to produce 18-19 psi and hold well above stock levels out beyond 6,000 rpm.

Whatever you do, if you feel compelled to replace the stock BPV, it is extremely important that you run the replacement in full recirc mode and the replacement must be capable of that. Run full recirc f you are to obtain optimum performance on this engine, which relies on recycling the already metered air back into the intake instead of venting it to atmosphere. VTA screws up your air to fuel ratio on MAF sensor controlled engines. You may already know this.
