Cruise control will not turn on (not even the indicator light). Brake lights working, horn working, fuse in good shape. Took apart steering wheel to see if "off" button was stuck, buttons seem to be in order. First mechanic diagnosis said it was not the brake switch, and all voltages to the cruise control module are at least there (although couldn't confirm they were correct voltages). Also confired all wiring was in good shape leading into the module. Mechanic said either speed sensor or cruise control module was the culprit.
Performance of the cruise control has been spotty over the last 1-2 years of using it, until it finally stopped working about a month ago.
Any other suggestions on what to look for?
I can buy a new module on eBay for cheap... are they difficult to install? Do they require some sort of calibration that I couldn't do with my personal tools?
