1999 Corvette vs 2000 S2000

Well if you get a Vette, that's all it's gonna look like: STOCK. When was the last time you saw a Vette that looked different?

ok lets compare two totally diff cars. theres a good idea.

and why a 99 vette vs. a 2000 S2k?
how about a 2003 Vette vs. a 2003 S2k

1/4: corvette: in the 12's with a good driver
high high 13's with a good driver
i have yet to see a s2000 hit the 12's even supercharged.

the s2000 looks like ass IMO, the corvette is a very aggresive looking vehicle, which scares you more? a honda or a corvette?

u were saying? look at the pic

Why does everyone compare 1/4 mile times? With the S2k and a vette, 1/4 mile times don't do either of them justice. Put 'em both on Road Atlanta or the like, stock of course, and give them both five laps (equally compitent drivers, obviously). Lets see who wins.

If you want to talk about modifications, be sure u apply the same modifcations to both...apples to apples.

Unless it was a z06, I'd get the s2000, save a few bucks and SC it, and bod kit, and have something unique. I love the vette and all, but I hate GM, and interior in the vette looks cheap thanks to the cheap ass plastic. At least the s2k would still feel good after a few thousand miles. A old vette just feels old..shake rattle and roll the american way.

But Personally, I'd get an STI over both :)

Indeed. I always wanted the Z06. s***, how can you compare anything that takes 4s stock under 80g CAD. AND THERES STILL MODS TO MAKE IT EVEN FASTER. Sad. S2K is okay, but nothing compares to my favorite thing on any cars... pop up head lights. Yeah that might sound gay but its still something you don't see in many cars today. Actually I don't see that in most domestic & import vehicles... maybe exotics but still.

Still 50/50 weight distro is something to be loved... and no, a S2K will loose to a corvette, especially a Z06 in a track. No matter how tuned it would be, the corvette will knock it out. Handling will be the same on both sides, but as it was said before it will all come down to the driver.. Hell haven't you guys seen Intial D??? It still puzzles me how a Skyline loses to a Corolla GTS... lol...

In terms of insurance, up here in BC, a Honda will probablly be as much to insure as a Corrvette will. (We have probablly the most car thefts that revolve around Honda cars than anywhere else... dunno about that fact but that pretty much sounds like it.) My friends Civic comp was almost 1g... sad... Over 3gs to insure a Civic. GM cars seem to have more love in terms of cost than imports... prolly a given, but nothing compares to my Proteges insurance... wow... it was at least 300 less than the SRT-4 to issure... insane... (have not insurred my MSP but if you wanna know my quote was 1600... for the lowball...)

S2K is a true sports car since they don't even have an automatic option :)

so is STR-4 is also a sports car??

and a ferrari with steptronic isn't???

go out and look for c5 corvette's, you will see one every 2 minutes or even less where ever you go...at least where i live thats how it is...but i rarely see any s2000's around, i see them once in a while, i would buy a s2000 over the c5 just because of how many are driving around, but if i had the money for a zo6 id get that instead...
