1990 626 GT Engine trouble! Fuel Pump?

Hey all - I've got my grandma's 1990 626 GT (I'm the second owner, cool grandma to have a black turbo-charged hatchback!) - It got me from Virginia to California and around for a while, and is having trouble starting now. It's only got 164k miles on it, and I love the car, sentimentally and on it's own. I want to keep this thing going!

I got home from work last week and it was running fine, then an hour later went to run to the grocery store and my car wouldn't start. Lights came on when the key turns to accessory, it would crank, but it wouldn't start to catch or turn over.

In the last year it's had a new fuel pump, battery, and some wiring (can't recall exactly what wiring). It leaks some oil from a few places and idles a little rough, and occasionally starts to overheat in stop-and-go heavy traffic, or the engine rarely starts racing at a red-light, but otherwise has been running fine the last few months.

The only other thing I can think that might be of interest is that it's intermittently made a squeal when starting up, what I assumed was the alternator belt. I replaced the alternator myself about 8 years ago. The spark plugs and wiring for them were re-done about 6 years ago.

Over the weekend I replaced the fuel pump myself, it cranked up and ran smoother than before. The next day it ran in the morning, then same thing when I got back to it that night, it'll crank but wont catch at all. It'll run for a minute on starter spray, then dies off. Any ideas?
