My 87 323 hatchback is running fine but lately when I fill the gas tank, I get a strong gas smell. The smell goes away when the tank drop to half or below. I was told it might be the O-ring around the in-tank fuel pump? Does that seem likely and can I access the fuel pump on this model from inside the car or do I need to drop the tank?
