1976 Mazda 808 Reliable?? help appreciated.

I am getting ready to purchase a 76 808 wagon, and I just wanted to know what you all thought about the reliability of those vehicles.

It is in spectacular condition, and has 80k miles. it is needing timing work done though.

In your experience, how reliable are these vehicles?

I have one of these. Had it for approx 3 years. I love it! I've had to do quite a bit of work on it, but it is now very reliable. It's the 1.3 liter version that I think was labelled a mizer in the US.
It is nearly 40 yrs old, so I guess I expected to do some work on it. One of the first things I did was convert to electronic ignition. Never misses a beat now. I also put a 32/36 weber carb on it. I guess like most old engines - treat her well and she'll be reliable.
I've done a heap more work on it. Happy to help out with advice if you need.
