'17 CX 9 wheel choices for snow tires

Howdy all,
Brand spanking new CX 9 owner here. This replaces a well abused Ford Expedition. Love it so far. Has anyone gone down a wheel
Size and gotten winter tires that are thinner and higher aspect ratio? I'm sure there's a minimum wheel size with those big brakes.
I like a slightly thinner winter tire for those slushy mountain roads we have in WV.

That said, I ran 245/65-17 snows last year with good results. I had a set of 17" wheels that were the correct fit, so I got these tires.
