16" rims on stock tires...

Hey all, I'm in need of your expertise.

Check out the wheels pictured in this forum:

I noticed that someone posted in another thread in this forum that the stock wheels/tires for the P5 are 16x6... these rims are 16x7... will I need to get rubber as well?

Please help a newbie out!

I don't have my factories anymore, but I could have sworn that somewhere on the sidewall of the tire it says something about maximum rim width??

I just went outside and looked at 'em, the only measurement that has to do with the rims says "DO NOT INSTALL ON 16.5 WHEELS". It says nothing about the width.

I just got off the phone with a local tire place and they said that it would be about $140 (CAN) to put my stock tires on new rims, but it should work. Apparently it will push out the width of the tires to pretty much be flush with the sides of the wheels.

Well, it pays to phone around too. A different tire place said they could do it for $80. Hehehe

check out the dunlop website and it'll say what size wide wheels those tyres will fit (i assume you yanks still get dunlop tyres as oem)
