16,000 from stockers?

My tires are pretty much shot.

I have 16,000 miles on my car. I feel that's kind of bad for stock tires.

I don't do burn outs, But i do corner hard...

What I really want to know is about how many miles did everyone get out of their stock Potenza's... and what did you switch to when you had to change?

I'm kinda stuck between a few tires and want to find the best tire for the price since i'm a broke college kid.

Wow...12K? I'm at 12,300 now and have PLENTY of tread left. But I have been babying it for the most part :)

I got 45-46k miles in my OEM Potenzas.

Rotate regularly every 6k miles.

Was my daily driver, I guess I just didn't daily-drive it as hard as everyone else.

I got about 10K miles out of mine before taking them off (they have about 1-2/32" of tread remaining before they hit the wear bars).

I'm currently running Kumho XS in 235/40R18 on RX-8 wheels.

I don't drive hard at all and mine are damn low on tread at 7K. I am running winters now but I don't expect my stockers to last more than 10-14K. No track time, no burnouts, just a 7 mile drive to work avg 28mpg....not sure why they are wearing so fast.

At about 18k sofar - probably going to make it another 3k or so before the backs are done. Rotated once, because I was driving it fairly aggressively at first and have mellowed out some.

I just hit 30K this week and my second set of stockers is into the wear bars. Makes it fun in the rain though! :) I've got a set of Kumho XS all mounted on rims, going on this weekend.

I'm amazed at people getting 20K out of the stock tires.

I am at 17k with the original rubber, but... I have winter wheels. So that takes off some of the mileage. Still have a lot left on them though.

wow! 20k!

My tires are pretty much at the wear bars... but they gotta last for another 2-4 weeks so I can get a few more paychekcs. haha

And yes they are REAL fun in the rain. A little hand brake + a tap of the throttle = fun u turns.

I got 20k out of mine. This is with a dozen of so autox runs, and hard cornering on the street. They could have lasted longer, but I was dumb and didnt rotate them till 10k. If I would have done them every oil change, I probably would have gotten 25-30k out of them.

I'm at 23k miles and at the wearbars. It really all depends on how you drive and you should always check your tire pressures.

I got about 9k out of my stockers. I'm told that's pretty avg for an ultra high summer performance tire. I wouldn't except anything more than 10-12k miles unless you drive like a grandmother in which case you'd be better off trading the MS3 for a Civic.

I wouldn't expect anything more than 10-12k miles if you do not know how to handle a vehicle

Fixed that for you.

I do not think Turbo23 drives like your grandmother.

With proper monitoring of air pressure and regular rotation, you can get more than 10-12K out of these tires.
Also take into consideration the surface's that are driven on, a daily basis...big factor.
I drive nice curving backroads daily. And she does get pushed. I got 30K out of my first set.

Plus, they are only rated at 140 treadwear....

Bingo..... Yes people can get 30k out of them but it also depends on the roads you daily drive (ex. rough northeast pot hole ridden roads as compared to smooth as glass nevada highways.) With 1 track day, 2 auto-x's and 13k of daily i still have 4/32's on most of them (strong left hand track lol) For winter I'm running 225-45-18 Falken zeix 912's. Good but not the same category as the potenza's
