so whats the deal, sounds like everyone is saying the stock internals on a good tune are good for 13s at around 10-12psi? or is that a no...

THats a yes with supporting mods, but tuning is the key.

Good tune with the engine management is going to be key along with the supporting mods. You can have all the supoorting mods in the world but they won't do you any good with a crappy tune. I have heard great things about kooldino, JDM sam, and a couple others about getting great tunes. I would talk to them.

hummm were are they located they are probally far away from me

also.... supporting mods your just saying a exhaust dp fmic boost controller and a ecu ... now on the boost controller should i go with electric or is manual ok its just more of a hastel because of adjusting it? and what is the best ecu for the money?

I really like all the features that the unichip offers. It takes care of fuel, timing and boost, though a lot of people don't like the way the boost contoler works. I'd go with that, a full turbo back exhaust, maybe some smaller wheels for the front and some drag radials. That should put you in a good spot for your goal Oh yeah and practice makes perfect.

I believe that kooldino is located in new jersey and JDM sam is in fort worth texas. You also might want to talk to the guys at nsnmotorsports.com, they sell the microtech lt10 which is one of the best and can provide maps based on your mods. You can also find the j&s safeguard though them.

well what is the best ecu for the money because im fixing ready to be in college and that means ima be broke.... so i need the best bang for the buck what do you all think about unichip

1st- sell car
2nd- buy newcar
3rd-run mid 12-13
4th- cheaper and more reliable in the end.

I chose the WRX, opinions do vary though...

If your on a limited budget. I would go for a DSM AFC. They go for a good price here on the boards used and new. And your car will thank you also.

i was going to get a WRX but i started talking to mechanics that my dad knew and they said there a b**** to work on and you have to drop the motor to change a spark plug. also people that own them tell me this too

WRX? What ... Maybe STI mid 12-13 but its $30000+

STI'S are the same as evos; they are mid to high 13s in bone stock form. they are made for rally not drag

Evo 9 is a high 12 stock. I would say that the evo 8 and 9 are both faster stock than a stock sti.

STI's can get around 1.7+/- 60' time but they can be reeled back in and you probably backed out of the race seeing as he jumped so far ahead at the launch.

sti are like mid to low 12 bumpy

A stock STi is good for a low 13 at BEST. Many don't know how to drive them and they run low 14s.

i belive this one had slight mods on it such as intake exhaust and bigger intercooler maybe....

well, cobb stage II is a reflash, and 3'' dp. That puts you at about 277awhp and 315awtq. with exhaust and fmic, you should have lost.
