I got my MSP last night, and noticed a big crack in the rear valence this morning. The plastic is cracked all the way thru to the left of the exhaust cutout :mad: :'(

I took the car back and asked :wtf: and got an appointment to get it 'repaired'. If that doesn't work, it WILL be replaced by Mazda: I had 60 miles on the car when I found it, and I most definitely had NOT touched ANYTHING with the car.....

They can't repair a crack in the plastic bodywork, they have to replace it.

yes, they can repair cracks in plastic bodywork--plastic welding then of course they sand the surface smooth etc then repaint it, but they'll probably be repainting the whole bumper also, i'm certain they'll give a lifetime warranty on the paint and crack repair.

sure it can be fixed...but it won't be the same as UNDAMAGED...nor as strong....

get them to replace it.

sir nuke, that's a given, but then i imagine whoever the repair's done by would have to give a lifetime warranty, nothing less; however, i would STILL insist on a new one as it only appropriate for a new car.. =D

Just take my word on it....it's not worth the hassle down the road. What you call perfect, and what they call perfect WILL be two different things.

It's a new car, the bumper is cracked....nuff said
