1 more for the Trophy Case

I tell you soundbombing, your Pro is the sickest Ive seen. Those pipes look awesome. And the way the intercooler fits. I need to do some flush job like that. Any pointers?

PS- Update your www with engine pics!

Thanks a lot. I've put quite a lot of time and money into it. Ofcourse I'm still not happy. I had 18's on it but couldn't work out the contingency sponsorship so I'm back to the stocks. I love your p5 also, i bet you love the it also along with the boost =) You should see the piping in person and I couldn't have the i/c any other way. As far as being flush, you just have to shave the bumper a little and then mount it where you like it. The only thing is ofcourse you will have to modify the piping to fit, that may be the hardest part. I don't know how big your i/c is but my support had to be notched.

Yeah, I'm lazy with the website. My video cameras battery doesn't hold a charge so using it more than 5 mins. becomes a pain. I'm hoping to get all my pics up within the month.

pirana, with the addition of the hiboost you just might just win that class now! i've been meaning to ask you, is this your daily driver?

Is anyone else wondering how this car won a trophy??? I'm not trying to knock this car at all... aside from the fact that this car has some weird black crap on the front, no tints and no spoiler... my car is exactly the same!! I seriously must be missing something. Boost must have a crazy setup under the hood and behind the wheel... I don't know. from the outside it just looks "average" to me. (as far as speeds go at least) Just my oppinion...

Chico, that would be called a roll call. Yano, people who SPONSOR you. :D I dont neet tinted windows to win a show, you gain no pints for that. the spoiler, being SHAVED OFF, actually adds points to my exterior mods. As far as my "under hood" I have Injen intake, Blitz SBC ID controller, Blitz Power meter, steel braided hoses. Also, you can eat off my engine, and bay. It is absolutly spotless. More is waitinhg to be done, and is currently top secret. :D

You also need to know how to present your car. Granted, I bought the car with the tokico, racing beat, hart, kenwood s*** all on it, but when I presnet it, I explain it like it was a Yenko Camaro. It rolled of the assembly line a regular protege, then Callaway and Mazdaspeed NA went to port, and turned it into what it is. (hence, it IS all aftermarket stuff.)

Edit: ohhhh yeah, forgot to mention, everything aftermarket on my car, aside from the Injen, has been purchased in Japan, and shipped over. :D (just for that extra point or 2 at a show)

Edit#2: yeah, its really not that hooked up, but what is done, is all quality. It is not just how the car looks man. I can take a bone stock p5 to a show, and at least take 2nd place, jsut by how I present it to the judge. Guess thats why I judge shows, I know what Im doing. :D

umm... so you're basically lying to the (clearly uneducated) judges then??? Telling them that all the "aftermarket stuff" like the kenwood stereo, stut bar, etc is indeed "aftermarket" when it's clearly stock (to anyone that knows anything about our car) is indeed a lie.

To me, the idea of getting more points from shaving the spoiler off only makes sense if these judges realize a spoiler came stock (hense, taking it off makes it unique) if these judges don't even about all the aftermarket stuff that comes stock on the car then how could they know about a spoiler??? LOL Look... I'm not trying to cut on you or anything! I mean, like I said, we have the same car... though, I feel mine looks better! : ) -with the spoiler, tints and none of that "garbage" you call sponsors on the front.

Bottom line: you're in the minors. I've been to a lot of car shows and, just to PLACE, takes an insane amount of labor/hardwork. The cars I see at shows don't even resemble their stock bretheren... (I'm sure at least a few of you reading this know what I'm talkin about!) Speed Channel has a great show called "Hi-Rev Tuners" that feature the caliber of cars I'm talking about.

If I'm being a bit "unfair"... forgive me. Again, not tryin to knock your ride but you definitely shouldn't be lying to these two-bit judges that are at this car show... just my oppinion. L8R

Apparently, you dont know too much about your "car" First, the car came to the us ports as a stock protege. Mazdaspeed, and Callaway put all the stuff on it ot make it a MSP. Hense, it IS aftermarket. :D Would you call a saleen mustang sock, or a roush mustang stock ? no, you wouldnt, its the same principal.

As far as being a judge, I judge on the HOT IMPORT NIGHTS AND IREV AND IAS scenes bro. :D I know my s***, and how to present my car. you can goto www.nationalcustomcarassociation.com and see what we judge. :D

Again, like I said this was a local show, 50 cars, 3 others in the Mazda class. another MSP stock, a miata stock, and a beat first gen rex-7.

Come to an IREV or HIN, and see what I judge, then come back, tell me I dont know cars, or how to appeal to the judges. :D

As far as thje "garbage" that I call sponsors, you really dont have to be pissed man. Its ok, you could someday get em too. :D

While we are at it, why dont you list your mods, with pics, and Ill do the same. Then we can have the forum members vote on who has the Hotter car ? Sound good ? come on, reach down, grab your nuts, and step up. :D

im with craig here. look at what i took to the smaller (i think 60 cars-ish) show and took 4 place in four door mild...i know thats not great, but i also dont really have much s*** done to my car...yet you could also eat off my engine bay, and it all looks clean.

craig you better use this, it took forever to do :D

You know I dont mean to knock off the NCCA judges, but to give you an idea of how some judges go for their buddies and stuff. As I presented my car, the judge told me, "Oh I know your car, I have judged your car before." Mind that he is looking at my engine bay and didnt even noticed the turbo.

I have been beaten by a beat up MX3, that had a custom kit, and nasty paint job. Its not how much you have done to the car, but how it looks and how everything fits to perfection. Wires running on top of your valve cover is not going to cut it. Yet the way NCCA judges, it doesnt seem to matter. Running paint jobs score more than a perfect clean, perfectly maintained factory paint job. Interiors that dont match but have been customized by Joe Upholster score more than a set of Sparco seats that match your scheme. I have seen nasty spoilers that dont follow the lines of the car, fiberglassed from hell get extra points.

I'am sorry, but it gets frustrating. Doesnt mean that I have lost to good cars, they are out there.

Sorry for the ramblings. Continue... :)

once a car got best vinyl graphics at blooddrag and all he had was vinyl letters of his car club on the windshield, sometimes the judges just suck and get confused

you basically said it perfectly. the judge didn't even know i had a turbo.

that ******* "condensor/radiator" looking thing in my front bumper is an intercooler and all that shinny aluminum piping goes with it along with my turbo. god I wanted to hit him.

i don't know if this is unique or not but I had my trunk lid signed by the r&d guy and manager of the mazdaspeed program. i even showed that but who cares. i've gone to a drift event, road course, two diff. drag tracks, and the car is daily driven but some judges don't care.

but that is the way it goes. i just like to rep for my mazda, my pride, and my crew. this is what i like to do but i want to do more racing. later.
