1/4 mile turbo times???

Okay it seems like turbo mania is sweeping this site...I know we have several forcedly induced members on this board and plenty more on the way...has anyone run the 1/4 mile....even the 1/8 mile???

If you have run please post your times, mph, mods, setup (slicks?), tranny...etc...Now lets start posting: :D

the weekend after I got my p5 I took her to the track I ran 17.1-17.3, this is all stock and like 500-1000km's on it.

Awesome...chdesign...did you run slicks...how much boost were you running and how much HP do you estimate you had/have?

What rpm did you drop the clutch?

Thanks

I was running on a set of z rate Yokohama AVSi's on 6 lbs of boost. It was about 65 degrees outside. I didn't dump the clutch but once due to the amount of spin i created that best time i made was with me easing out the clutch pulling off at 2500 rpm. An LSD would come in VERY handy if you are planning on any drag races with your turbo protege. As far as HP I'm not sure. Oh yeah I also ran a 14.7 with the turbo and Nitrous and I have run a 15.3 with just Nitrous.

I ran a 10.6 in the 1/8 with my MP3.

My car is stock, except for a filter. Nothing was removed from the car, I had extra weight from car seat.

1/4 mile time....

I think it's a good idea to start a topic on that.

Here's the last time I did after changing the spark plug for NGK (colder) and runing a bit less on the rich side:

Runing at 8psi,
68 degree weather ,
63% humidity
94 octane

1/4 mile: 14.68 sec. at 101.6 mhp
0-60: 6.4 sec.
G-force acceleration: 54g
whp: 190 (estimated around 210-220 hp with 15% drivetrain lost)

Those numbers came from a G-Tech Pro.

Here's spoolin number from the other post:

I just ran a 14.65 in the 1/4 @ 99 mph with really bad 60 foot times. This was launching at 4000 rpm feathuring the clutch.

90 degree weather
sealevel
80% humidity
7.5 psi of boost w/ 11 degrees of ign retard
Amoco 93 octane

Sucky thing is that is you address the launch and traction problem to well, you may be having to address a tranny problem too. hehe:)....okay sorry, bad joke. :(

Sorry Antoine, I didn't remember the previous post. Can you transfert this info in the other post and delete this one?

Apexi, the time I did was with a smooth start and smooth shift. It's sure that if someone abuse and do start with high rpm, it will be hard on the tranny, but I don't think this is my case. ;)

I to am kinda of babying the tranny when I get on it. No quick or power shifting and no smokey burnouts. I am paranoid about my tranny as well so I kinda have some mechanical empathy for the tranny. I bet if I were to flog the s*** out of it I could get a couple tenths of a second faster, but I rather have a functional tranny thankyou:)

13's is easily attainable even with moderate boost pressures. A good set of slicks, and some polly moter mounts with 2-3 more psi with some c16 and the 13's will be at my doorstep;)

*pricks up his ears* Did someone say poly motor mounts? Are there poly mounts available for the gen 3? I'd love a set.

No problem Stou...taken care of.

Poly motor mounts...hmmm...Oh can you say kartboy...they might be able to produce them...?

Urethane, not polyurethane, motor mounts available through AWR Racing. I think MazdaSpeed makes some but I don't know if these are them.

what's the diff between urethane and polyurethane?

i would just like to say for just tires i am runing 16.2. Cant wait til I get the short shifter and a few othr suprizes but so far so good. BUt as far as street racin goes i have done well against the best. I ripped apart a civic with a b16 in it. Lets just say he was hurt. When it comes to actually drivin a car I was definatly born to do it.

Am I missing something here...I went there and found the mounts but darned if I can find a price for these things. Anybody know the cost?

I emailed them to get the cost for those. I'm very interested in them. Also, I asked about their front spoiler for the cars. I believe that it fits the ES/LX cars since that's what they originally built for world cup. I'll see how long it takes them to answer.
