09 Ms3 Vs 09 Wrx

I was searching for a friend of mine 04-05 STI's yesterday (my favorite body style) and there were a few around 18-19 grand. Man its tempting to get one... real tempting.

ya for that kind of dough that's alot of car...i have even seen some evo 8's for around 15-16 grand but the issue with most of these cars, the sti included, is they have been abused like crazy. But i guess any used car is a gamble. buy smart and buy it right.....should be a reliable car that's alot of fun.

plus the 04-05's are prob. the most solid sti's to buy..i would go with an 05 personally..stronger axles and some other things i can't remember. the 04 is 5x110 while the 05+ is 5x114.3

LOl..sorry yes that's correct. forum surfing and work don't mix sometimes and i haven't completed drinking my coffee.......thxs!

you know what u can do is get the 09 wrx then upgrade sti turbo and intercooler. it would be bad ass

the turbo is sim. to the 08 sti's ..now the intercooler yes it's larger but the turbo is not really an upgrade. it would prob. provide a little more power but not much. i am anticipating that the 2010 sti will have more power than the 09. hopefully it does.

or if you wanted you could do things that give you more power for less money than buying STI parts and then when you've surpassed the capacity of your perfectly fine stock parts then you could look into upgrading them, again probably with other aftermarket parts instead of STI parts unless you know someone with an STI getting rid of their stuff cheap.

what does a stock ms3 dyno at?

and you owned an 09 wrx and an ms3?

My MS3 with Injen cai dynoed 245whp and 264wtq

I owned a MS3 for 14 months and gladly traded it in for an 09 WRX (265). Yes the tranny is beefer, it isnt a rumour. How much can it take that we shall know..

i think stock v stock they would be very close in a roll race most likely the ms3 would win as it seems like it makes a hair more power and the subaru's drivetrain lost who knows. i bet it comes down to a drivers race as what gear and mph starting out at can make a huge dif....but i look forward to seeing that line up. all i know is i have yet to see a stock ms3 run low 13's.

congrats on the new car!! must be nice. how would you compare the interior to the ms3?

Interior is nicer in the MS3, like I said before. MS3 has nice polished step plates, emblem in the cluster, a nicer choice of color/design. But I personally dont think its "that" different. Please I dont want to start debating that opinion again and I will not. But as stated again, the biggest turn-off of the MS3's interior is its hundreds of sounds and squeeks which were driving me absolutely NUTS. You need to drive a MS3 in winter to really understand this issue, although there is always some squeeks regardless. Seats are more confortable in the Suby but hold you a bit less in the corners. Pretty similar though. I really dont mind the "cheapo/Hyundai look alike " interior of the Suby as some others have said. At least mine does not make one sound, even at -10*F (-25*C).
