'08 MS3 Sport - Able to turn on DIS?

Hey, new owner here - help me out please. I read about being able to turn on the DIS portion of the center console's display that gives you Instant MPG, Ave MPG, Miles to Empty, etc. Only thing is, they were talking about '06 and '07, 3's that have the "set" button. '08's don't have a set button.

Can this still be done? If so how?

Apparently you can get it to work on '08 models, however it only works on the 6CD changer, and not on the single disc player.

I found this elsewhere (not my work), so take it for what it's worth:
With the car off, hold down the CD and AM/FM buttons. Turn the ignition on, after the 'Hello' screen disappears, it will say DIS ON (or something like that). Turn the car off and then turn it back on.

If the trip computer is not displaying (it will be in the same window as the clock) press the 'set' button. The trip computer should now be showing. To scroll through the options, press 'sets. They are current mpg (real time), average mpg, miles to empty, and average speed. To reset average mpg and speed, hold the 'set' button when that option is displayed. To get back to the clock, press 'clock'.

I have an '08 MazdaSpeed3 GT w/ 6 disc changer. I can get all of the information you're referring to easily. I have a "Clock" and "Info" buttons right below the clock on the dash. If I press and hold Info for 3 seconds, it will beep and then show all the different information - miles to empty, average MPH, average MPG, current MPG. Pressing info skips through the options. Pressing and holding information on any of the average displays will reset the average. This makes it easy to see MPG# for each tank of gas. Pressing clock brings back the clock screen. Let me know if this isn't clear or doesn't work on your car.

i have an 08 ms3 gt w/ 6disc... that way is the correct way... except i dont get any beeping when i hold the info down...

might be because you turned off the beeb noise from the radio menu
i just figured it out today too, kinda nice to see your avg mpg

Turning on DIS on a Sport model MS3

Thanks for the replies.

I have the Sport model though and not the GT. That is why I was asking about being able to "unlock this info" vs just hitting the regular buttons on the center console / IP to see Ave MPG, etc, etc.

I'm going to try the '07 style instructions and see what I get.
