Am installing the factory OEM Sirius unit in my 07 MS6. The included instructions are pretty good but they are not specific for the MS6. There is no instruction on removing the rear seatback to run the wiring from the Sirius unit to the radio.
Anyone have instructions/how-to on this ?? I searched but didnt find anything useful....

I'm of no help at all, but am curious to find out where you got your OEM Sirius unit. I go to audio shops and they say to go to a mazda dealer, I go to a Mazda dealer and they say go to an audio shop. I don't want a reciever on my windshield, and thats all that the Future Shops and Best Buys of the world want to sell me.

saw that but its not the same on the 07...All I can assume is the 07 doesnt have the hardware for fold down....

Install

I installed my Sirius unit from the instructions the Mazda Kit sent. The stock unit is zip-tied in the right (passenger) side of the trunk. The head unit cable goes from there under the rear seat and down the passenger side of the car under the plastic covers for the door sills, and up behind the glove box to the radio.

To get under the rear seat all I did was open the rear passenger door and lift up on the door-edge of the seat cushion. You'll find a large bolt head there, just unscrew it (don't lose it) and you'll be able to dislodge the seat cushion enough to see through to the trunk. It was much easier then removing the entire seat.

Good luck with your install.

Two other things...

The antenna goes from the center of the top trunk (so the tail is 1/4 inch from the edge), goes under the lid to the DRIVER side, goes down the hinge assembly, then goes back along the front weather stripping to (through) the passenger tail light assembly to the Sirius unit (thought that was strange until I did it). You should have plenty of antenna wire left, and they want you to put it in a loop (no larger than 5" around). They say you may damage the cable otherwise. Not sure if I believe them, but hey, what the heck.

When running the head unit cable make sure you leave enough slack to remove the head unit easily. Otherwise you'll be trying to unclip the Sirius connector from the head unit in a tight space. Zip-tie the cables on the bar behind the glove box, but don't tighten anything until you're sure you have the slack. They give you enough cable to do everything, but it's still heavy and not easily moved if you don't do it right.
