07 350z

Am I misreading this? How does it take longer to go from 5 to 60 than it does from zero to 60?

in the quarter, that car was begging for gooier suspension. I doubt they would do that.

also, at least in my 05, power fell off really quick towards redline. since they upped the limiter, I'm guessing they did some serious tuning top end to maintain power.

incredibly impractical, and expensive to modify, but it has WAY more potential than our 3s do. sigh.

the major limitation is that our cars are front wheel drive. no matter what you do, it works against a launch, physically.

just to add my .02 cents about the new nissan engine it does have a brand new intake plentum with dual throttle bodies and intakes. so its able to suck in more air.

oh I know on the old ones that was a problem. especially with the plenum design starving the front two cylinders for air. still though... 6 more horsepower.

Just saw someone ask if the engine is the same as the new GR-R...No.
The GT-R is a new 3.8l V6 with a lot of different things done to it. But it was born out of the 3.5/3.7(new G37 engine) blueprints.

Its also not just 6 horsepower. Yeah thats the numbers but the engine overall is better it responds better and is more felxable than it was. the 6 hp is just from the improvements. the performace was the goal.

mainly, the addition of 2 turbochargers?

Not quite, the actual block isnt even the same. nothing of the internals is the same either. and besides the new pistons crank and rods, there is a new fuel management, along with new ignition stuff as well.

The just used the VQ35 and VQ37 as a starting point and made a killer engine after.

My co-workers brother challenged me to a race next week at the tracks and he drives a 07 350z with intake and exhaust and I drive a 07 MS3 with intake and TBE. He says he will smoke me by over a second. What should i expect if we were both average drivers. He also says he would walk me on the freeway also but i dont feel like dying so i dont race there.

Very late response. sorry. My spd3 ran 14. 02 against 07 350z. Don't know if he was stock or not. Test & tune night. It ran 13.9 and I was catching him. [bad 60ft] with just mscai.

i raced my friends z from a stop and beat him by a car in every gear. theyre over rated

It's the balanced chassis not the hp for the z, 50/50 split I believe. But i do love my Mazda so, and i will crush them

the new 07 350z is more powerful than u think it has a hand up on the 2006. It has a new intake plenum and dual intakes. I think it will be close but i have to give it to the 350z

The 07 Z may not have much more peak power than previous years, but could this be one of those cases where the "area under the curve" got a lot bigger? As in a much broader useful powerband than it used to have? Has anyone seen dyno curves comparing 06 with 07?
