07 350z vs 07 MS3

Our car will run a 12 with slicks, a cut airbox, midpipe, and I think driver was running 18pounds?

As I say on other forums, bench racing is for people who play Halo on easy. Go race and find out. My money is on you. And if you take it to a closed track that just happens to have a long straight, I'd say you'd walk away from him very easily.

completely aware of that driver311/laloosh...but thie OP is stock so that's a useless comparo. But I do agree get out there and race him...that's the only way to know.(drunk)

07 Zs are mid 13 cars..

You should take him anywhere but the strip.. You need to flat shift and if you get some 235+ tires it will make it ALOT closer.. Winner will be by a tenth here or there.. not much. From a roll you will take him.

You need to find a safe place to practice launching. From what I have read, about 3000 rpm seems to be a good starting point. From what pretty much every responder has had to say, this is where you will win or lose this race. Practice practice and practice some more.

Driver wasn't turning those times the first time he ever went to a track. He got better by doing it over and over again. Same for Laloosh.

previous years are around 280hp the new VQ35 series engine has had some mods(improved valve timing and i believe a slightly tuned intake) to boost power to 305hp torque is up too. the new Zs are running head to head with the new Mustang GT. around a 13.7 at the strip stock. slight mods will not make it much faster.

your going to get smoked at the track. Lol at people thinking the ms3 with i/tbe will hit mid 13s easy. IT still takes skill people, and a good damn 60. I went 13.4 @ 106 with i/tbe/17-18psi. Ive heard of bone stock 07s trapping that high and going low 13s. Imho you will loose in the 1/4 and probably still loose by a fender or so from a roll....

06 and under are a joke though

I don't think it'd be that hard to hit mid 13s with i/tbe, I still had my stock downpipe when I ran my 13.3. Yeah it takes skill, but the extra power from a DP should help overcome at least some of the lack of skill others might have.

Otherwise, I do agree that he's gonna get smoked at the track. From a roll it could be a driver's race, but the MS3 definitely has the advantage.

I havent had any problem fending off 07 Z's around here. They are a lot faster than 06 - down though. My buddy has an 06 and like loosh says, they are a joke.

i would say that the point is to shut him up even if he does win he wont walk the MS3. the 07s and up are pretty good cars but they are also heavier than the MS3, though from all i have heard they do have a better shifter.(never driven either car so thats speculation based on readings and talk)

Like I said before running the 350z at the track is quite difficult. The IRS and light rear end create some tooth loosening wheel hop. If you can hook it up the top end is quite impresive (and mine was only an 04). I still think that you can take him...as long as you can hook it up. The 60 foot will tell the story of the race. Good luck and TAPE IT.

I 110% agree with Laloosh here.. On the highway you can run up on most any Z and take it. At the track these 07+ cars ARE very quick and it will take a near perfect run with that setup to take one. I didnt want to crush anyones dreams, but now that laloosh is out swinging.. it is completely true. They are not joke. 05s on the other hand..(rofl)

I think they're still using the vq35de which is the one that has been in the z since 03. they've just tuned it a bit better. I read somewhere that it only has 306 hp which is 6 more than previous models. I'm not sure how that improves the quarter mile times by half a second...
