06 sport ms6 weight

In case anyone wanted to know I weighed my car yesterday. 3460lbs car only.(06sport ) That was with almost no gas as well. I have always wondered what the 3600Lb estimate was based on, it seems as that was based on a GT loaded with all the goodies.
So although 3460 is still heavy its not as bad as I thought with some carbon fiber hood trunk lightweight rims batterytray ect I think under 3400 could be achieved.


BTW mods are custom exhauhst-HR springs,fujita cai,HKS blow off,step colder plugs,3 guage pod

Better than I thought, but still heavy as hell. I have been riding around in a 2008 Corolla lately (rental) and I reallllllly miss lightweight cars now. But, I still love my MS6!

did you weigh the car on corner scales or was it at a local truck weigh station...
those stations arent goin to be exact.. plus.. the car is never without gas so..
might as well weigh the car without oil and coolant.. which at this point is unrealistic
you also lost some weight on the aftermarket exhaust...
anyone know what the weight savings are on a cf hood versus stocker..

It was a truck weigh station I think they are like within 20 lbs... not sure on CF hood I think it is around a 25 lb savings.. all I know is the stock is heavy as crap.

I know bringing back an old thread but I weighed my 06 Sport last night. 3,440lbs 1/2 tank of fuel and no spare or jack.

I think the 3580 lb weight estimate is for a GT with a half tank.

This gives me hope that with a cf hood and trunk. Taking out the spare and tools and battery relocation we can make 3350 maybe?

The stock flywheel is 26 pounds. Fidanza makes an aluminum flywheel that weighs 11 pounds to replace it. So there's -15 pounds.

With the balance shaft delete, you're talking about losing another 15 pounds or so. Additionally, the stock wheels are ridiculously heavy at 24.3 pounds a piece. You can shave 28 pounds of unsprung weight with relative ease by going with a 17 pound wheel.
