06 Mustangs SUCK!

Get You Some!
:
03 Mazda Protege LX
I went Sunday to buy one, cash in hand. Had them get my black GT loaded chrome wheels. Went to get in it to test drive it, you just cant buy anything with out test driving it first. Sure enough, no leg room at all in the backseat. My poor kid had no room. This was a very big let down for me. I love the looks and I wanted one soooo bad. But I didnt even get it out of the parking spot. I figured there is no reason to even drive it, that would just make me want it more.

NOOO, dont buy a Mustang. They have live rear axles, and probably cant corner worth a s****. If I was you and was looking for a speedy family vehicle, I would look at the Mazdaspeed 6. Plenty of room all around. It has a turbo charged 2.3 liter I4 good for 274 horsepower, or somewhere thereabouts. Your looking at 0-60 in about 6-6.5 seconds so it wont be as fast as the Stang in a straight line. Thing is, it has AWD and independent suspension so it can corner well. It should be it the same price range as your mustang too. http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/displayPage.action?pageParameter=modelsMain&vehicleCode=MS6

I suggest you look up the price on the Stang GT.
The speed 6 is 10 grand over the stang.
And the stang has a 3 link rear suspention. Like the kind that put up all the record breaking times when retrofited to the 4 link stang.

Its not the rear axel thats the problem its just about everything else. How about an RX-8.

Yeah I went to check out a mustang too, yeah I was feeling them especially with the Roush package. But after looking at the price and goodies I decided to look around for 05 or 06 GTO. You can't go wrong with 6.0 litre 400 hp and you may be able to get on at carmax with less than 10k miles on it for less than a brand new mustang GT.

only problem with the gto is that it looks like every other car on the road...

just a personal opinion though.

The reason I wanted a Mustang it that it doesn't look like all the other cars. The car it self doesn't handle to bad. It faired well against the 350Z. The Z did beat it in handling but lost on speed. It ended up averaging out in the end. As far as cost goes it wasn't cheaper than the speed6. They both run 26-30k. This was alittle under 28k. And to be honest, I don't care about how good it handles. For the most part unless you are a pro driver you can't really tell the differance. And most racing (if I ever do that again) is or will be in a streight line. I'm just to worried that I"ll lose controle and hit something now. I hate getting old.

i dunno u should check out the top gear vid of the stang on the road course... that b**** halls ass... and it seems to ge tby those corners alright

whoever is doing 6.5 seconds in a Mazdaspeed simply can't drive or there is something just wrong

THe mustang is completely useless to me as well. Even the front seats are too small. The back is horrid and given the actual size of the car you would think there would be more room. My co-worker has one and I almost need to go to Chiro. therapy after I sit in it.

I don't think I'd ever buy one, just not for me. I respect what they can do on a straight and all, and love the engine sound, but I'd rather see one driven by someone else, not me.

Yea, that video of the GT-V-Elise exige was not to bad. You figure for a mucle car to be up against the Exige and only be off by a few seconds is pretty damn good.

But for a family guy this car just don't fit. Kind of like the 350Z, just don't fit either. But hey I'd rather have a Dodge magnum rt and my boy then the stang any day. Which that might be my next car. Or pay off the pro and get an older jeep and a bass boat. I don't know.

Hmm, so you want lots of power with lots of room but something that looks bold with a price bellow 28k. RX8 has the back seats but is to slow, you dont like the Speed6, GTO looks to plain, only other thing I can think of is the Charger R/T but that is slightly out of your price range at 29-33k. But then again, if your considering the magnum then the charger could be taken into consideration. Their basically the same car with the same engine except the magnum is a hatch. Then there is the EVO, but that just looks like a beefed up lancer and is probably out of your price range too.

Almost forgot the new Subaru Impreza. It looks different, but I dont know youll either love it or hate it. The regular WRX is pretty fast, but the STI just flys. Problem is the cost.

Money isn't the issue. I just don't want a car that looks like a kid owns. I'm 34 and a parent and I want something that fits all my needs, fast and functional. I like the speed6 and it's an option but I think the magnum looks sharper. And I want a RWD car again.

Well if you can be flexible on the price and you want RWD, only other thing I can think of is the Infinity G35 sedan. Price around the same as the magnum. Has the same 3.5l V6 engine as the Z, but with slightly less power at 298HP so its going to be a bit slower being as how its a sedan. Looks preety sharp though.

HUGHES!

The GTO's are pretty decent on legroom, and fast as hell.

If you want to get a "feel" for some of the cars that you are looking for without dealing with asshole salesmen, give me a call and you can check out a few cars.

The charger is a pretty large car. You should have TONS of room in it.

Dodge Charger (dunno)

mmmm magnum. I think the Magnum R/T and ESPECIALLY the Magnum SRT-8 look really sharp. The interior/dash is pretty bland but it isn't poorly styled at least.
