06 Mazdaspeed 6 CLUTCH

I just traded in my 03 rsx type s for an 06 mazdaspeed 6. I love the car, but in this last week I notices that my clutch releases very high. This makes it hard to start driving out of first gear. I bought the car brand new, with like 400 miles on it and the clutch was very hard to get used to. Now I got the hang of it, but it seems like the release point is just high on it and it makes it a pain in the Ass to drive. Anyone else have this, or should I have the dealer take a look. Kinda blows if somthing is wrong.

ps. I dont notice any slipping or problems other then that. Oh and yes i know how to drive stick, have been driving Acura's (integra/rsx s) for a long long time now.

I believe that in the manual there is something that warns you not to exceed 20mph in 1st, so if you are shifting out of 1st at a higher speed than that, clutch problems can ensue.

Look for a thread called "Clutch Adjustment" about 99% of the people who have done this loved it. I did it, it was easy and brings the clutch back to normal.

I am going to mess somthing up if I do it...The way the setup is now, is it ok to drive if i get used to it

No you won't. It's very easy and only takes about 15 mins. Where you located? Maybe if you are close to someone who has done it, they can help you out.

Its seems like I have to adjust a lot of nuts and bolts on there. Cant I just turn the main bolt 2 times and thats it?

PMd you.

But that would work too, Im guessing.

Which main bolt do you mean? ... I'm thinking if you just adjusted one bolt one of two things would happen:

The clutch would never fully engange or the clutch would never fully disengage. Neither is good.

Really? Does your do the same thing, where it releases realy high and feels like an old clutch?

They are all like that, that is why we all adjusted them :)

I guess I'm one of the few who like the clutch the way it is lol.

I'm with ya there. I have gotten used to it, although with these all seasons I can't seem to avoid chirping the front tires on occasion. I do miss Subaru's AWD system and clutch/tranny that's for sure. Overall, for me an adjustment would only mean different, not better, since I have grown used to the way it is, and I personally don't think it's a very good gearbox. For a daily driver, and not a car I plan to ever modify or race, it suits just fine. Now my 06 S2000. That
is definitely the best gearbox I've ever driven. :)

Also it's so fun to tell someone "Bet you'll stall it when you try it" Then watch them stall it like 4 times lol. I get a kick out of that :)

I didnt mind the clutch as much as most people did on the board, but after the adjustment, it just feels so "normal". I like it much better now.

RSX - it is in no ways hard and if you read/understand the pdf from the other thread before you start, you will have no problems at all. Trust me im the type of person that could mess up the simplest task, but this was cake.
