Nice looking product.

This may be a dumb question butt what if you already have a Short shifter?

I posted this in the reviews forum and thought it may be useful here:

I ordered and installed the JBarone Racing stage 2 short shift kit for my '10 Mazda 3s, and I wanted to leave a quick review.

Jamie was extremely professional and helpful - I received the kit within three days of placing my order, and I twice PMed him with questions and received answers within the hour. The short shift plate and the hardware are excellent quality, and the instructions are very good. I'm really happy with the throw reduction, and his prices are the lowest I've found. I highly recommend that any fellow 3 owners purchase his kit.

Thanks for everything, Jamie!

Also, a few tips for anyone who purchases the kit:

1. you will need a swivel-head ratchet, T-handle ratchet, or a 12" extension to remove the bolts in the bottom of the battery box when installing the shift plate

2. I highly recommend that you install your CAI or SRI at the same time since you have to remove the stock airbox in order to install the shift plate

3. it can be difficult to remove the cable head from the stock shifter arm, so be careful where you put the needlenose pliers so you don't mess anything up while applying force to the cable head; it took me a few tries to get it off

4. it's a little more difficult, but you can install the solid shifter base bushings without completely removing the center console and without cutting the little strap holding the wiring down

Thanks for a great week folks! Feel free to order any time day or night; I ship 2x every day.

Thanks,
Jamie

since youve been selling this for awhile ill ask again lol.
have you had anybody buy it that already had a SS (TWM preferably) what where the results?

Sorry not that I'm aware of. If you want to try it I'll refund you if it does not work less the shipping to return it. Pretty risk free.

Thanks,
Jamie

i need the car first lol. i was just wondering for future reference. i know that levi (thejeans) on this forum has a TWM SS ill ask him if he wants to be the test dummy.

Well since my dad got a bike the ms6 has turned into his "its raining and i dont want to get wet vehicle/hauler when he cant get his hands on the 6i"

so that wont work but ill keep you in my for when i get my 3

if its only reducing the throw 35% from stock i dont believe its going to be any benefit to someone with a STS as i know my twm is a reduction of either 40 or 45% so if my thinking is right it would actually make the throw a tad longer....

that being said this is a great option for someone that doesnt neccesarily want a shorter shifter but does want to benefit from a shorter throw...

however, if you want me to test one, just PM me and we can talk/work out the details....

It'll be shorter that's for sure. We do it on the MS3 and MS6 with the TWM.

Thanks,
Jamie

so your saying with this you can reduce the throw even more than with just the sts reduction... (atleast on the ms3 and ms6)

i just dont see how... if your saying yours reduces it 35% of the throw from stock and a short throw reduces it 40% yours would be a tad longer (even adding it to a sts wouldnt it??)... maybe im missing something... i dunno but now im curious and would be willing to test this out to prove or disprove whether theres any benefit to adding this to a sts....

My kit by itself=35% reduction
TWM by itself=40% reduction

Both combined ~ 65-70% reduction.

Thanks,
Jamie

how does yours install tho??

i guess thats what im stumped on... i could easily confirm or deny if i actually saw how they were mounted...

OOOOOOOOO.... hahaha

i was thinking something was getting attached to the shifter (inside the cabin)

not under the hood... HMMM interesting, might have to try this...
