06/07 MS6 differences

that sucks about the warranty thing cause i was wanting an 07 to get the extra year, but they both expire in the same year. so it really doesn't matter if I get an 06 or 07 now.

Although the B2B does, the powertrain is the same, so you should be fine. That's the one I'd be more concerned about anyways.

The Navi in the GT only is questionable because when I was shoping around I test drove a 06 MS6 Sport that had the Navi. It's possible the previous owner had it installed after purchase, likely NO, but still possible. I own an 06 MS6 GT with the two tone black/white leather interior and have no Navi. As far as the advanced key, was only available on the GT model. If you find a GT with a Sport key, most likely because that person lost the original key. Friend of mine did that and cost him $400 to have a new advanced key made up.

No major differences between the '06 and '07. 07's had most of the TSB's already done. The 4HP difference was due to the rating for gas (or so I was told). I had heard it was for a 91 rating in '07 and based off 93 for '06. The emissions comment mentioned before could be it as well. The engines are the same. GT models as stated had the credit card key. If it's advertised as a GT, it has leather, and the credit card key and there is a small button on the door handle that allows you to lock/unlock the car without taking the key out of your pocket. If it doesn't have the built in button on the door handle, it's a Sport. GT's also had heated seats and mirrors. Black and white leather only available in '06 on the GT. The color differences, BlackCherry and Whitewater Pearl were dropped from the '07 line-up. Fold down seats, not an option, all have the bracing across the back (found that out the hard way). Nav and moonroof, I do believe were options for the GT only. That about does it. Anything else we missed?????
Mine is an 07 Black Mica GT with Black and White Leather, but my build date on the door sticker is 06. It is registered in Canada as an 07.

I have an 06 GT and I have the credit card key, two-tone leather, moon roof (which I love), and 4 year/50K mile b2b warranty.

On the power train warranty, read the fine print. Mine says SPECIFICALLY that my deductible is 50% of any repair. That's unacceptable to me. Then again, my power train warranty is from the dealer and is 100K miles...

there is a difference of 4hp but that's about it. I think the difference came because of the emmisions.

I'm thinking the difference in hp rating was the measurement method that was Gov't mandated for all OEMs in 2008. Most identical cars (06-07) lost a few hp, some more than others with NO actual changes to the engine.

2006 CLUTCH DIFFERENT + PRODUCTION #'s + TIPS

3. what are the production numbers for each year? I'm finding like 95% more 06's than 07's for sale.

Blendercloud informed me earlier today (I've been wondering myself):
-------------------------------------------
The first year (2006) there were about 4500 made out of 5000 planned. The second year (2007) there were only about 3200 or so made out of 5000 planned.
--------------------------------------------
MAJOR difference between the two years is the clutch. It was redesigned for 2007, and the 2006 one is difficult. There's a marked difference between the two, so I suggest test driving both. I actually just had the 2007 Clutch put in a couple of weeks under UNDER warranty, as there was a TSB for it.
However, it was only usually granted for the 1st year/12K miles, but I think the fact that I wrapped my b-to-b warranty to 7yrs/100K miles helped (cost $2,500, but with the brand new clutch, it has already paid for itself). For me, the 07 clutch made all the difference, esp because I do a lot of short distance/city driving. I love driving it now, and thus I'm here & getting some mods. I had test drove an 07 initially and bought an 06, assuming they were the same (I was not as wise as you! lol)

I have an wwp 06 GT with Navi, with the black on white leather, like others said are available and came with 'credit card' keyless entry, and I have a moon roof.
GT also has heated side mirrors (which I didn't know about until recently) because there is no button on the drivers left door panel (odd), they come on automatically when you turn on the rear defogger.
Also learned recently that pressing & holding keyless button in drops all four windows. Holding the lock button does NOT put them up, HOWEVER, if you have the GT, when you exit, if the doors are unlocked, push & hold the little black lock button on your door handle in, and it will close all your windows for you.

hope that helps
