Hello all, i've got a bit of a problem with my mazda3. engine blew out on me, piston arm hanging out of the block and oil pan. first time i ever seen something like this, piston arm even went through the back of engine, short of hitting the flywheel.
now as many of u know, this 2.3 engine is not cheap. 1800+ at local junkyards. i did find a good deal for 1400, but its from an 06 mazda6.
the problem is this, i know the valve covers are different and the oil pan, crank sensor and maybe other little stuff i can salvage from my own core. im just wondering if its doable. because on the mazda6 engine, the a/c pump doesnt bolt under the oil pan nor is the oil dipstick in it(its on the valve cover).
can i use the mazda6 2.3 engine. any help is greatly appreciated guys.(i really cant afford the extra few hundred to get the right engine. but i can afford to save some money and do the extra work.)thx much in advance.
