the armadas and titans kick ass
the only car i dont like in the sentra i looks to round and i hate all the new grills but on the 05 altima that big chrome buck tooth isnt there :) it looks very nice
I agree.
I have no idea why auto makers keep adding these "breast plate" type decoration on the front grills of their new models. Sentra, Maxima, Galant, Outlander, Endeavor all have that.
They look ugly and blocking the air passage to the radiator.

The Altima never has had the Bucktooth.

I hate all the large brand badges too!

Exactly!

As for our car, I like the old 5 letter MAZDA word badge than the flying "M" badge.
When I see M I think of BMW Motorsports. Like people on here tallk about the Mazda3 and they use M3 and I'm thinking of the BMW M3.

I was looking in the Nissan parts catalog at the 05 Altima to see what will change for 05 and I came acrossed a Altima 3.5 SE-R. I was like no way! The SE-R will go into production in 8/2004 and with have a different front, 18" rims, and other exterior changes from the regular Altima. It will be offered with a 5 speed AT and a 6 speed manual. I haven't find out performance number yet.

Nismo will be available for this car too.
Yes, but will it solve the torque steer Maximas and Altimas are plagued with? Probably not...too bad. Anyway, why not just buy a 6 speed Maxima instead? That's supposed to be the "sporty" car. Unless they find a way to make it AWD (like on the Murano, which is the same basic platform), it just seems a little, well, pointless.

The Maxi is heavier then the Alty. Nissan probably not sell a Maxima with the the Murano's AWD system. The floorpan will have to be redesigned. Why not use the 04 G35x driveline?

I could be wrong, but I think the Z/G35/FX have the engine mounted longitudinally since it's basically a RWD platform with an AWD option. The Altima/Maxima/Murano/Quest platform has the same engine, but it's mounted transversely because it's primarily FWD. So I think they'd have two different drivetrains.

That is correct. It wouldn't surprise me if Nissan sells an AWD version of the Quest.

as a nissan sales rep i can say that i have never heard of any rumors official and non official of a se-r altima. like a 250hp v6 isn't enough?

Then tell me why theres Parts listing for a Altima SE-R in Nissan's parts software? There's wheels, emblems, steering wheel, shift knob, and exterior parts that are not listed for the current 04 and 05 Altima Base 2.5/2.5SL, 3.5 SE and SL. The description says that they are for the 05 Altima SE-R. Do you sell cars? Most sales departs are kept in the dark until the new vehicle is close to coming to market. The sales department at the Nissan dealer I work at doesn't have a clue about it either.

Yeah I sell the cars. But one of the sales guys has close connections with Nissan Corp. so I can try to get more info about the SE-R Altima. I do know that the 2005 Sentra will come with the 2.5L engine on ALL trims.

I did a bit of research, the Altima SE-R has no official specs so it's still up in the air. Probably a late 2004 early 2005 release. I'll ask around and see if I can get someone to cough something up.

I looked again at the parts for the 05 Altima SE-R. It will have different front bumper cover, side skirts, and rear bumper cover then the regular Altima. It will also have 18" rims. As for the 05 Sentra having the 2.5L I don't know about that. Nissan better bolt a better transmission to the QR25DE so it will be a ULEV vehicle. I know now the 2.5l in my auto SE-R gets 25 mpg hwy. Nissan will have to have a new tranny for the B16 chassis. I saw somewhere that a 2.0L will be in the base and S models.

PhatTrax sorry for getting alittle b****y!!
