anyone know where to get a copy? i know there's one on the web for the protege5, but i can't find one for an '06 3

Stealership. That's where I got mine. The part numbers are in the back of your owner's manual.
You might be able to find one on eBay. Also, keep in mind that you'll need two books: one service manual and one electrical manual.

and, since it's only on a site and not a document, i can't exactly take it with me on my laptop if i am somewhere that i can't get i-net access

Most repair manuals don't have part numbers. There's a whole different book for that.

Those pictures on that web site are straight from the factory service manual.
